Hats, hats, hats! I love to wear hats year-round, but today I’m sharing my favorite hats for fall.
One of my favorite ways to accessorize a fall outfit is with a hat! Not only do hats conceal dirty hair, but they also elevate an outfit and keep your head warm. Whether it’s a wide brim or a floppy wool felt fedora, hats are a classic staple of fall outfits.

The Hat Girl
Looking back over the years, I’ve always been a hat girl. My mother-in-law bought me one of my first fall hats during college. It was an adorable brown wool felt fedora with felt floral details. I remember being a little self conscious about wearing it because no one else was wearing anything but a baseball cap in college. But my mother-in-law helped me find confidence in creating my own style, even if I’m not wearing what’s trendy.
Since then I’ve embraced my love for accessorizing my outfits with caps and fedoras all year round!
Here are some of my hats for fall over the years:

How to Wear a Hat for the Fall
There are not rules when it comes to how to wear a hat for the fall (unless you attempt to pair a floppy fedora with your pajamas). A hat should feel as normal as most accessories, like a pair of sunglasses or a purse.
If you’re worried you will look like an outlaw from the Wild Wild West, avoid fringe and cowboy boots with a wide brim hat. Anything you wear that feels like a costume may just look like a costume too.
Stick to neutral colors when choosing a hat, like tan, gray, black, and navy. They are ideal hat colors because they match with almost everything. During the fall it may be fun to wear brown, burgundy, or olive as they match most autumn outfits (as well as the season!).

My favorite fall hats are from Hat Attack, a family owned New England business. They launch two collections a year, spring and fall, each carrying both classic and trendy items to wear. Hat Attack’s felt brimmed hats are so high quality and long-lasting. Each felt brimmed hat is made with by hand in a factory in the Bronx, NY. Want to shop their fall/winter collection? You’re more than just a hat girl… you’re a hat QUEEN! I always admire the hats you wear on your blog. And I envy you because I look truly ridiculous in hats 99% of the time. I used to wear a lot of fedoras in high school and even in my early 20’s when I first started my blog. But now I just admit defeat haha. I can’t pull them off as well as I once thought. I love the floppy wool hats on others though!
Ah! I feel so not cute in hats. Ug! You can totally rock them, though. Maybe I need to give them another try this fall!
So cute girl! I wish I could pull off hats. Any time I try I look silly
