My First Mini Capsule Wardrobe for Fall
Temperatures are finally cooling down here in New England, but often increase by late afternoon. There is nothing worse than leaving the house in a sweater and regretting it by lunchtime! The secret to dressing for fall in Connecticut is wearing LAYERS!
Every year I add a few new pieces to my wardrobe to wear with my favorite autumn staples. There are so many varieties of the items below in stores right now! I recommend that you shop around to find pieces that you really enjoy and can wear year after year.
Here are the contents of my Mini Fall Capsule Wardrobe:
- Corduroy Pants
- Corduroy Skirt
- Sweater Blazer
- Fleece Turtleneck
- White Button Down
- Chambray Button Down
- Rugby Shirt/Long Sleeve Henley
- Long Patterned Sweater Cardigan
- Clogs
- Riding Boots
- Birkenstock Slides/Loafers
- Sneakers
- Small Purse
- Tote Bag
- Hat
- Brown Belt
Corduroy is a must have for autumn in New England, but pants style trends are always changing. I’m really loving the return of the FLARE, so I bought these corduroy flares in two different colors. I’ll forever wear skinny corduroys too, as well as this corduroy skirt I’ve had for years! More items I’ve had for a long time: chambray button down, rugby shirt, fall hat, riding boots, and sweater blazers.

A little note about accessories… I’m a creature of habit and rarely change my purse or jewelry on a day to day basis. There are so many possibilities when it comes to accessories and how they can really change the look of an outfit. However, I stay true to my classic jewelry: birthstone necklace, diamond earrings, wedding rings, and gold bracelet.

Thanks for sharing! I used to wear scrubs to work but recently took a different position so now I’m business casual so I’m looking at some good investment pieces that can be mixed and matched. Also, those sunnies are soooo cute on you!
