I haven’t shared a Life Lately post since April and thought it was about time. If you follow me on Instagram, you know most of what’s going on in my life lately. But there are always a few things you might not know – like Annabelle’s last day of Kindergarten is today!
Summer Plans
This summer is looking to be just as interesting as spring was considering we will be doing a lot less traveling than usual. Despite three cancelled weddings and some travel plans, we are trying to find the silver linings.
Good things happening: Our neighborhood pool is set to open tomorrow and we may have a family getaway in the works for next week. Plus, our annual trip to Cape Cod is NOT on the cancellation list!
Here is what I’m packing in our beach bag!
I have a Summer Bucket List with lots of ideas for sunny AND rainy day activities, so I’m not too worried about staying busy on the girl’s vacation.
Another good thing in life lately: THIS WINE FAIRY THING that has been going on in my town. What a way to bring a smile to someone’s face!
Brush BeCAUSE This Summer
Do whatever brings you to life, then. Follow your own fascinations, obsessions, and compulsions. Trust them. Create whatever causes a revolution in your heart. – Elizabeth Gilbert
If there was ever a quote to describe my current life motto, then there it is. I’m SO EXCITED to share a project I’ve been working on with @turquoiseandsunshine involving our LOVE of painting, learning how to paint from the paint masters, all while giving back to our community. Alexandra is the brains behind Brush BeCAUSE, a virtual painting experience that will bring the arts and our community together. I will be sharing more details tonight on Instagram, including our FIRST incredible guest artist + a giveaway! Make this summer magic — and stay tuned by signing up for our mailing list.
Health Update
A lot of you have been wondering how I feel now that it’s been one month since I was officially over Covid-19. Every day is different in terms of my energy level and asthma, but it all relies on the weather. When pollen count and humidity is high in our area, I can’t spend an extended amount of time outside.
THIS IS HARD since it’s practically summer. Not only do my daughters like to play outside, but I also enjoy vitamin D. When it comes down to it, I’d rather stay inside if it effects my breathing.
Speaking of feeling good, I’ve been in therapy now for a little over a month and I’m feeling much better. After being sick for so long, my anxiety level was at an all time high. There is so much I’m learning about myself through therapy and I look forward to sharing more at a later time.
Last Day of School
Today we are looking forward to celebrating Annabelle’s last day of Kindergarten via Zoom calls and a drive by parade for her teachers. I can’t believe she started distance learning March 6th and missed out on so much time in the classroom. Annabelle truly loved school and it’s been hard on her having to learn at home via Chromebook.
I’m experiencing a lot of emotions considering how her first year of real school ending so abruptly. Remember when I wrote her a letter before she started Kindergarten? It feels like it was just yesterday I was crying about sending her off to big girl school – and here we are on her last day. Truthfully I believe I’m more emotional than she is – and that’s ok! Life lately has really been strange.
Here’s to hoping the last day of school makes way for a fun first day of summer vacation tomorrow!

It is definitely a tough year milestones such as your child going onto the next grade is hard enough without it occurring dung a pandemic. Continue to look for the silver linings I am happy that you remind people to do the same. Here is to hope.
