It’s been awhile since I shared my thoughts and confessions about motherhood. Enjoy!
It’s been one of those weeks that has seemed to fly by and drag at the same time. Since we came back from Connecticut on Monday, we’ve had a little bit of trouble falling back into our routine. Well, “we” haven’t had trouble, a certain little two-nager has had some trouble. I’m looking forward to Friday evening when Brandon gets home from work and knowing we have the weekend together.
Christmas Confession
I confess… I listened to Christmas music last week. My mom and I were driving around looking at the leaves and I wanted to pretend it was winter. So I turned on Christmas Pandora and it. felt. wonderful. I am in no rush for Christmas to get here, but the thought of it always makes my heart so warm and fuzzy.
Pumpkins
On that lovely note, we are going to get a pumpkin to carve this weekend. Annabelle is SO excited to show Ailey how to pick out the bestest pumpkin. I am looking forward to a pizza pumpkin carving family night Saturday!
I confess … I drink too much coffee.
I also confess I drank too much wine in Connecticut. I think I was trying to make up for all the wine I didn’t drink during my pregnancy. Thankfully I consume more water than most humans, so I never felt sick from the countless glasses I enjoyed.
The jealousy is real up in here.
Annabelle has been in rare form the last couple of weeks. Whether she is jealous of the attention her sister gets from others or the time I have to spend with her sister, she sure shows us she isn’t happy. She is also testing her powers of authority and telling everyone important in her life what to do and how to do it. If we don’t go along with her instructions, the tiny dictator loses her mind.
Send wine.
I confess … I’m disappointed that wine does not make calming down from a two-nager tantrum any easier than it is. Lately I have found myself breathing deeply and counting slowly (as if I was the one who just beat up her Mom and kicked down the bedroom gate).
I confess I wanted to have a drink on our flight back from Connecticut oh-so-bad. Annabelle threw up, pitched a couple of fits, and Ailey blew out her diaper, which resulted in me changing her on the fold-down tray.
See my tips for FLYING ALONE WITH KIDS here.
I confess… I finished all of Gilmore Girls and cried because it was over.
I confess… I’m binge watching The Flash instead of sleeping at night.

I am 3 episodes away from the ending of Gilmore Girls. I have been wanting to get through it , but I know I will miss it. Luckily, we have the mini season coming out. I drink a lot of wine and coffee too. Especially wine lately. My girls have been in rare form.

And, it sure does sound like Annabelle is jealous. Sending you lots of wine.
