A Little Bit More About Our 7 Year Old
Age: 7 years old
Birthday: August
Height: 3 ft 11 in
Weight: 50 lbs
Teeth Missing:
Ailey is silly, funny, and loves to laugh. She likes jokes and being goofy! Ailey loves to play with her sisters, and is spending more time playing with Arbor now that she is older. She likes to draw, especially when she is following a “How to Draw” video. Ailey loves art projects, like making tiny fairy or doll houses, or being creative with household supplies.
One of Ailey’s best qualities is also one of the things her struggles: Ailey was born with BIG emotions. She feels ways other children her age don’t feel and is very aware of how she’s feeling. Kindergarten was challenging at times due to her emotional maturity – but she had an incredible teacher who understood her needs. When she’s angry/sad/frustrated, she likes to write or draw in a journal to process how she is feeling. Ailey also loves hugs to calm down when her emotions become too intense to handle.
Ailey is sensitive, empathetic and highly intuitive. She always knows when I’m secretly crying during a movie and will look at me compassionately while wiping away my tears. Ailey can also tell when we are mad or even keeping a secret. Sometimes I feel like she can read my mind because she will give me the hug I need without knowing what is going on.
Ailey is responsible and eager to please, but makes mistakes just like any other seven year old. We have to remind her often that mistakes are a part of life! She is our most cautious, fearful of getting hurt or being in danger (she won’t ride rollercoasters). But at the same time, Ailey is also always up for an adventure!
Her imagination is creative and magical, just like her big sister Annabelle. She loves to play pretend. I feel like Ailey sees the the tiny beautiful things in the world others may miss: a newly bloomed flower, a cloud shaped like a heart, or a stunning sunrise. She’s passionate, filled with so much love and life, and her personality is always blossoming.
Ailey’s Likes and Dislikes
Ailey loves to sing and dance all over the house. She tells us she wants to become famous someday, for what – she hasn’t decided – but she would settle on famous actress, singer, or even a model. While Ailey hopes to be in the spotlight, she can also be nervous and shy in a big crowd. She competed at Nationals for dance this summer and went through a lot of emotions before going out on stage. What if I mess up? What if I forget my dance? She performed to her best ability though, despite her nerves!
