Friday Favorites: March Style

Is it really the last Friday of March? This month went by so quickly since we spent 50% of the time away from home. We went to Woodstock Vermont for a long weekend and then visited family in Tennessee and Georgia for ten days! Today I’m sharing my Friday Favorites: March Style, since it’s been awhile … and I have A LOT of stuff you’re going to love.

My Favorite Handmade Accessories

Somehow I won a giveaway (I never win anything) a few weeks back hosted by three adorable shops: Sewcialite, Island Haus, and Little House Boateak. The amazingly talented ladies sent me packages of goodies this week and the gorgeous green woven rope pouch above – yah that was in it.

I also received a little gift from my friend over at The Monogram Corner (yay for local businesses!). She knows I love Chinoiserie anything, as well as navy and white, so she gifted me these beautiful Chinoiserie Tassel Earrings. My Favorite Allergy-Free Pillow

My Favorite Spring Home Decor

Last week while visiting my in-laws in Tennessee and Georgia I swooned over all of their spring decor. Both of my mother-in-laws have wonderful and unique tastes in home decor – however fresh and faux flowers are a common factor! One of my favorite spring home decor touches is a vase of fresh tulips – so I ran out and bought a bouquet as soon as we got home!

I also have to take pause and show you my new Tieks… they are my first pair and worth every bit of discomfort I felt the first day wearing them. Don’t worry though, I broke them in quick! Tieks are stylish, comfy, durable and HANDCRAFTED from 100% premium soft-grain leather. In case you weren’t aware – ballet flats are one of my favorite shoe styles!

My Friday Favorite Book: “Under Pressure” by Lisa Damour

First off, let me say that if you have daughters, want to have kids, or was a daughter – READ THIS BOOK.

Second… I have to say I’m so so sorry to my Mom.

Third… this is a snippet of my book review. “Under Pressure” by @Lisa.Damour completely opened my eyes to the reasoning for my teenage emotional deflection. Here is one of my favorite quotes from the @randomhouse book – “When a teenager becomes upset, her supercharged emotions can hijack the whole neurological system, unleashing a blinding glitter storm and turning your otherwise rational daughter into a sobbing puddle on your kitchen floor.” Did you know there is a way to calm those glitter storms? Speaking of a Chinoiserie Obsession

While I wait for the frames I ordered for my fancy Chinoiserie prints by Paper Words, I’ll let you tell me where I should hang them. I’m loving the way they look in our great room by the shelves, but I also envision them hanging on the dining room wall. Paper Words is an awesome Etsy shop started by a woman who loves antique lithographs and etchings. Donna from Paper Words captures the beauty of antique art and prints it in its digital form for all to love and appreciate.

Coming up this weekend we have a family get-together on Saturday and a whole lotta spring cleaning to do on Sunday. Actually – I have the cleaning to do, my husband will most likely be watching March Madness. I’m looking forward to a possible trip to Trader Joe’s and maybe meal prep as well.
