Ah Monday… no one is every excited to see you! Who else was hunkered down for the crazy Nor’easter on Friday? We were planning on being trapped in the house while a monsoon rushed outside, but my husband whisked us away to see the snow in Vermont. Come back tomorrow for a recap on our trip to Manchester, VT! I never got to hit publish for last week’s favorites, so enjoy!
one. surprise adventures.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know my husband surprised me and the girls wth a trip to Vermont to see the big snowstorm. We had SO much fun on our first trip as a family of four. Believe it or not – we’ve always brought someone along with us because we were intimidated to travel alone with two little girls. It wasn’t as bad as we feared and I think we will be going on another trip sooner than later =0)
two. a new curling wand.
ICYMI, I posted all about the L’ange Lustre 1 inch blush Curling Wand I was able to review this week. You can get 50% off any full priced item here using my code: COOLMOM
three. high rise jeans.
Despite the fact you see a little bit of my skin, these high rise jeans from J.Crew are my favorite pants. I really never liked a high rise on my frame until recently – maybe its the Mom in me, or the fear of having muffin top – whatever it is, I need more pairs. J.Crew is my go-to for denim since their sizes are consistent, but if you know another brand I may like, please share! Here are some amazing pairs from J.Crew (all on sale!).
four. this inexpensive hair dryer.
I was sent a hair dryer to review and even though it doesn’t have the power of the one I use on the regular, it gets the job done. Plus, it is inexpensive, light weight, easy to use, and PINK. There are three heat settings and three power settings. There is also a removable nozzle for concentrating on one area of your hair. I would recommend the Lee Stafford Coco Loco Hairdryer for anyone looking for something to bring on trips or a hairdryer at a great price.
five. the best activity pack for little girls.
We stopped at the Northshore Bookstore in Manchester, VT to pick up a few goodies for the girls while in Vermont. Annabelle chose a fairy colouring set that is by far the best activity book I’ve ever purchased for her. There are markers, stickers, and SO many pages to color. The book has compartments to hold the markers and a magnetic closure so nothing falls out. It is under $10 and we are probably going to buy 15 to keep in the closet for rainy days.
Can’t wait to check out the Vermont recap! Your hair looks fabulous in all these pictures, were your curls done with the wand you reviewed?

Your Vermont trip photos are so lovely so far! I love your little girls matching sweaters! My husband would love to take us to Vermont as well – he stayed at hotel in Manchester I think (called the Equinox) – a bit of a haul over there from England but it sounds amazing – looking forward to seeing you pics!
I’ve been a huge high rise jeans fan for a long time. My best friend told me that I might not love how they felt post-partum but the opposite has been true for me. My perfect pair is from Gap – their high rise sculpt true skinny. The sculpt really does seem to do lovely things. I also love H&M for high rise options or trendier washes / destruction.
