Every bucket list should include exploring Vermont during the fall – just don’t forget your Joules Right as Rain gear! After all, there is nothing quite more beautiful than the fall foliage in New England.
This week I went on a girlfriend’s getaway to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. I’ve always wanted to take a girls’ trip such as this! We packed our Joules gear and set out to peep the red, orange, and yellow foliage.
I was joined on my adventure by Helen from Style Inherited, Claire from Home with the Wileys, and Kristy from Kristy New England. Take a peek at their sites for more content from our trip!
Scenes from our trip to Vermont during the Fall
If you ever have the opportunity to visit Vermont during the fall there are so many different places to go. We spent a few days exploring the northeast corner of Vermont, an area known as the Northeast Kingdom. The area is comprised of Caledonia, Essex and Orleans counties and received its nickname in honor of its sheer splendor.
My friend Shannon Shipman has covered quite a bit of Vermont during the fall and documented her travels. According to Shannon, here are the top five Vermont towns to visit during the fall:
- Manchester – Read about my trip to Manchester here
- Woodstock – Check out our family vacation to Woodstock here
- Bennington
- Waitsfield
- Stowe
Looking for a place to stay? Look into renting an Airbnb in Vermont for a few nights – or even a few weeks! We stayed in a beautiful lakefront home with all of the amenities (including a canoe!).

Places to Visit in Vermont During the Fall
The Vermont Country Store and the Kissing Bridge are two iconic stops for Vermont visitors. The Vermont Country Store was established in 1946 and is operated by the Orton family. There are a few locations around Vermont, but we stopped off at the Rockingham location. If you love maple syrup, homemade fudge, souvenirs or local cheese, the VCS is a must visit!
Another must make stop while traveling through Vermont is one of the 100 covered bridges across the state. The bridges date back from 1820! We visited one of the most famous bridges in New England, just outside of Vermont.
The Cornish–Windsor Covered Bridge is a 154-year-old two-span covered bridge that crosses the Connecticut River between Cornish, New Hampshire, and Windsor, Vermont. It’s the longest covered bridge in the country!
A little bit about Joules
Joules is a British company that draws inspiration from England’s countryside. They design long lasting, high-quality contemporary clothing for the whole family. One of my favorite things about Joules is their dedication to blending style with practicality. Everything I own from Joules is comfortable, functional, and stylish!
The Joules Right as Rain collection is inspired by the predictably unpredictable weather. In New England we are sure to see a little bit of every type of weather during the fall. Here is what Joules has to say about their rainwear:
We truly believe that there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes. And with Joules’ rainwear collection you’ll only find the right clothes, footwear and accessories that will keep you dry in no matter how wet the weather.
Caitlin: Coast Mid Waterproof Coat in Red // Fairisle Sweater // Denim Skirt // Navy Polka Dot Rain Boots
Helen: Coast Navy Mid Length Waterproof Coat // Color Block Sweater // Short Wellibob Yellow Rain Boot

Kristy: Coast Navy Mid Length Waterproof Jacket // Cable Knit Sweater // Navy Mid Rain Boots
A special thank you to Joules for outfitting us our Vermont fall trip!

Aw this looks so fun. I love Jules rain gear, it’s so bright and happy!
This looks like it was such a fun trip. I love the bright colors of the clothing! I’ve been wanting to visit Vermont in the autumn season for a while now. It’s been years and years since I’ve gone to New England and I want to show my husband around. You’re giving me great travel ideas!
Joules has the best raincoats. I’ve had mine for years and it’s one of the most worn pieces in my closet!
It seems like such a fun trip. I’ll have to add Vermont to my destination list.
