As a farewell to winter, my family and I took a trip to our favorite snowy haven in the Northeast: Vermont. We had the pleasure of staying at the most gorgeous place, The Woodstock Inn & Resort, located in the heart Woodstock, Vermont.
Driving up to The Woodstock Inn & Resort felt like something out of a movie. The Resort is a grand white estate set in the center of a picturesque town covered in snow. My daughters and I “oooh’d and ahhh’d” as we pulled up to the main entrance. Checking in was a breeze and we had our Woodstock Queen room keys in no time.
The Woodstock Queen
Our Woodstock Queen room with sofa bed was bright and beautiful. The big window overlooked Woodstock and was the perfect spot to watch the snow fall on our first morning at the Inn.
Traveling with two little girls can be interesting when you’re sharing a room. Thankfully our guest room was big enough for us all, with a large walk in closet and extra space for our luggage. The beds were quite comfy, the pillows fluffy but firm, and we slept cozily each evening.
There are plenty of sitting areas in the guest room too.
Gorgeous Bathroom
The bathroom was very spacious and stocked with full size spa quality toiletries. My daughters enjoyed a bubble bath on our last morning in Woodstock with their new plastic ducks we picked up while shopping in town.
My family was so excited to discover the sweetest welcome gift from The Woodstock Inn & Resort in our room – wine, a cheese plate, caramel popcorn, and homemade chocolate chip cookies!
Unlimited Water
One of the amenities included in your stay at the Woodstock Inn & Resort is unlimited fresh water. This is such an important amenity since fresh water is hard to come by in a hotel. The glass bottles filled with water are so unique and can be purchased at the end of your stay!
Morning Coffee/Afternoon Tea
Another amenity at The Woodstock Inn & Resort for guests to enjoy is a morning coffee station and afternoon tea with homemade cookies. There was quite the crowd of guests each afternoon enjoying a variety of teas and fresh from the bakery treats. My whole family agrees the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup cookies were incredibly delicious!
Breakfast at The Red Rooster
Each morning we ate a hearty breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, The Red Rooster. From the House Smoked Salmon to Vermont Ham and Cheese Omelettes, there is plenty to choose from on the menu before starting your day. There is even a children’s breakfast menu with plenty of options for the pickiest eaters.
The Red Rooster is not only open for breakfast, but lunch and dinner as well. We ventured out into town for these meals, but I imagine the food is just as delicious.
Note: There are actually four restaurants in total at The Woodstock Inn & Resort. Hopefully we will come back during the spring to experience the other culinary options.
The Game Room
One of the coolest parts about The Woodstock Inn & Resort is the Retro Game Room! Almost hidden on the lower level near the conference rooms is a fantastically fun space for all ages. The Retro Game Room is the perfect place to cozy up by a wood burning fire while you play JENGA, try your hand at Pacman, or challenge your family members to a game of checkers. Annabelle and Ailey had never played pinball and the old fashioned machines kept them entertained for an hour. There were also card tables, retro video games, a pool table, shuffleboard and so much more to do.
The Woodstock Inn & Resort is a Great Place for Families
Overall, my family and I had the best little getaway at The Woodstock Inn & Resort in Woodstock, VT. The Woodstock Inn & Resort is a great place for families to stay for a few nights while visiting Woodstock, Vermont. There is so much to do during the winter, like skiing at Suicide Six! Keep an eye out next week for more information on What to Do in Woodstock, VT.
