Today I’m sharing a letter to my daughter Annabelle. From 7 month milestones to your baby favorites, enjoy our daughter at seven months old.
Dear Annabelle,
My isn’t it appropriate that I am waiting until you are almost 8 months old to write you this letter? It seems as though time has gotten away from me – we have been so caught up in having fun together this summer, that I never had a chance to sit down and tell you all of the wonderful things you have been up to.
Annabelle, you are unstoppable! Since you learned to crawl the week after the fourth of July, you can’t sit still. You love to explore every inch of your space and try to pull up on anything that seems sturdy. One of your favorite places to stand is in the crib! You have quite the cute crawl – as you are not on all fours in the traditional sense, but rather on two hands and one leg, using your other leg to push off the ground. You prefer to crawl over laying on your back, and anytime we lay you down (to change your diaper or dress you), it is only a matter of seconds before you flip yourself onto your belly and take off. You like to chase Mcmuffin or follow after Mommy or Daddy if we walk away.
7 Month Milestones
In your seventh month of life, you have learned SO much. You know how to occasionally wave, blow bubbles, make motorboat sounds, say “Mamama,” “Bababa,” and “Dadada,” stick your tongue out, and give big, wet, sloppy kisses. You are eating Stage 2 baby food and don’t really have a favorite. You pretty much eat anything we give you. You started chowing down on Puffs when we went to the beach with Mommy’s family. You love every flavor but banana. We have to feed you the puffs though, because you haven’t quite figured out how to get the Puff from your hand into your mouth. You like to suck on ice through your mesh food ring, or sometimes frozen applesauce or bananas. You have a sippy cup, but prefer to bite on the nipple instead of drinking the water inside.
At the end of your seventh month, you transitioned from sleeping in our bed to your crib. On our trip to Cape Cod, you practiced sleeping in a crib for a few hours every night and we think that this helped a lot! You don’t like to sleep sideways in anyone’s arms anymore, for you prefer to be held upright when you’re falling asleep. This makes it hard to snuggle during naptime, but that’s okay, because you like to be on your belly in your crib anyways!
You became quite the beach baby this summer after two trips to Florida and one trip to Cape Cod. You like swimming in the pool and even hanging out in your float. As for the beach, it was not until our New England vacation that you ventured into the sand and the ocean. The water was too cold for swimming, but you liked sticking your toes in the sand and letting the waves hit your legs. You LOVE the sand and tried to eat it every chance you had.
Your Favorites
Some of your favorite things: your pink bunny, DANCING, music, bouncing in your high chair while you eat, shaking things that rattle, babbling, your musical puppies, and Mcmuffin.
We love you to the moon and back Boochie la Rue.
