Sleep is essential for surviving parenthood. Now that our children are finally sleeping through the night (for the most part), my husband and I make sure we get a full six hours so we can function properly as Mom and Dad. There are tips for having the best night’s sleep we follow once the sun goes down to ensure we get the rest I need.
Tips for Having a Great Sleep
1. Eat dinner at a respectable time.
A full stomach can affect your sleep, so make sure you eat a healthy meal at least two hours before laying down for the night. It’s important that your body digests your food properly and if you’re sleeping, it won’t happen!
2. Avoid caffeine once the sun goes does.
My Mom has always told me that caffeine in the evening will steal hours from your sleep. Make sure you avoid caffeine once the sun goes down and try to steer clear of sugary drinks as well.
3. Stay off your phone while in bed.
The light from your phone will actually keep you awake longer if you look at your phone while in bed. I am guilty of bringing my phone to bed out of habit. However, I can honestly say that when I don’t have it nearby, I fall asleep faster and for longer than when I do.
4. Go to sleep and wake around the same time every day.
Setting your body up for a routine is the best way to ensure that you are going to get a full night’s sleep. Go to sleep and wake around the same time every day and you’ll avoid bouts of insomnia or sleepless nights.
5. Use sleepbuds™ to drown out noises like a snoring spouse or sleeptalking toddler.
My husband needs a a solid night’s sleep too, but for some reason, once or twice a week I wake him up snoring. He often lies awake wondering when I’m going to snore so loudly I wake myself up (it happens). Couple the snoring spouse with a toddler who yells for her Mama in her sleep, my husband suffers. A solution to this problem: Bose® noise-masking sleepbuds™. Bose® noise-masking sleepbuds™ block out noise so you can get the rest you deserve. Instead of streaming music, Bose® sleepbuds™ deliver soothing sounds that cover up unwanted nighttime noises and help you fall asleep and stay asleep.
Head to Best Buy to grab a pair of Bose® noise-masking sleepbuds™ and have your best night’s sleep tonight!
My husband says they’re super comfortable and stay in place all night long, even if he rolls on his side. Wonder how these work? Download the Bose® Sleep app, which will enable you to set wake-up alarms that only you can hear, so you won’t disturb the person sleeping next to you. My husband loves that he can set his own alarm for the gym that won’t wake me as well. You can find Bose® noise-masking sleepbuds™ at Best Buy in the Health and Wearable Tech department or on BestBuy.com.

How great! I’ll bet they’d be great for when I travel. For some reason the sounds of a different place impact my sleep.
Love this idea!
