When I woke up this morning I had two beautiful sleeping angels next to me… one woke and gave me the best morning hug, the other woke with a yell. Can you guess who woke happily? Our first big Adults Only Getaway was a lot of fun, but now it is time to go back to normal.
Annabelle stayed up last night until I got home from the airport, so it was no dream or surprise that I was here this a.m. But poor little Ailey must have thought I wasn’t real because it took her a few minutes to say, “Hi!” and give me a smooch right on the mouth (which is a first!).
I definitely enjoyed my getaway to Arizona and Mexico, but it was hard to be away from the girls for so long. The absence of their little voices, silly antics, and special snuggles weighed on my heart by the last two days of the trip. I understand more how Brandon has been struggling without them this summer because they are what life is all about.
For Brandon and I, the 6 1/2 days away together was just what we needed though. It had felt like ages since we were alone for more than a few hours. More than ever do I believe marriages need time to recharge!
It’s going to take a few days for me to catch up with this little ole blog and the big ole world. I have some fun sponsored posts in the works, a little niece to love on, and one HUGE event coming up – my sister Tine’s wedding! I pick up my Maid of Honor dress tonight and we are on a hunt for Ailey’s dress and rehearsal dinner outfits.
It totally doesn’t feel like Thursday…hopefully
