I thought today was Friday… and then I realized it’s only Thursday. Aren’t those typical Thursday Thoughts when you’re a Mom?
Activities for the Week
We made brownies for Teacher Appreciation Week and Annabelle had the best time eating the leftover batter. Don’t judge – you know you did it when you were a kid too. Did you know most brownie batters are dairy free? I’ve enjoyed snacking on pieces of the most deliciously fattening brownies all week.
Of course Annabelle chose hot pink frosting and matching sprinkles for the brownies – because frosted brownies are the best.
The Weather in Atlanta this Week
It was 80 on Tuesday and today the high is only 60. I don’t understand Georgia’s weather, it’s more complicated than New England weather sometimes.
Personal Matters
I had to get an X-Ray and bloodwork done this week for some pretty irritating leg cramping I have going on – and weird shin bone pain. My doctor seems concerned about the bone pain, but said the cramping can be a sign of vitamin deficiency. So on top of not sleeping and being cranky from not sleeping I now have these issues… WTF.
A Baby Update
On Monday, Ailey turned 31 weeks old. How is she 31 weeks old? I’ve yet to write her 7 month post, but you’ll soon learn that while she is sitting up mostly unassisted, she still teeter totters and sometimes that big head of hers weighs her down. She really isn’t quite where Annabelle was at this age: crawling. I’m not worried at all – it’s just so funny to see how different the sisters develop.
Also, her facial expression might be better than Annabelle’s were as a baby. Ailey always looks like she knows something you don’t know, and we often think one of these days she is just going to start talking in full sentences. Then Brandon and I will never know what quiet in the car is like again. Anyone else have chatterbugs as soon as their kid gets strapped in the car seat?
Reasons I Am Excited for the Next Couple of Weeks
I’m not counting down or anything (22 DAYS!) until my sister Tine’s bachelorette in D.C., but it’s going to be my first girls trip without kids EVER. My sister’s bachelorette in Cape Cod doesn’t count because I was pregnant with Ailey. We are staying at the Kimpton Mason and Rook Hotel for two nights and it’s within walking distance of so many fun grown up things to do. We don’t even have to leave the hotel for me to be happy though – they have kid-free complimentary drinks every night.
Champs always make me happy.

Uh can I come along on that kid free grown up weekend too!? Sounds AMAZING. I hope the bone pain and cramping gets taken care of fast!

Ooh I LOVE kid-free grown-up weekends! Somehow I’ve had three since my kiddos were born and they are absolutely glorious! One was only 2 months after my 2nd was born though so I was still doing the wake up and pump BS so less fun, but still amazing!
