The easiest fall recipe is crockpot Sweet Potato Black Bean Turkey Chili. This family favorite is hearty, delicious, and packed with protein!

A few years ago my sisters hosted a fall themed Sip and See for Ailey. My youngest sister made the most delicious Sweet Potato Black Bean Turkey Chili. Since then we make it every other week during the fall (and sometimes year round).

Sweet Potato Turkey Chili Variations
The main ingredients in this recipe are sweet potatoes and ground turkey. The combination is perfect for fall! I actually altered my sister’s original recipe as it calls for green chiles and fire roasted diced tomatoes. Since my little girls don’t enjoy spicy food, I omitted the heat and added sweet corn instead. If you like spice, add a can of green chiles or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes to the crockpot.

One of the best ways to eat chili is when its thick – so make sure you cook it long enough for the liquid to be absorbed. Once the chili is thick, top your serving with a dollop of sour cream or shredded cheddar cheese. Another fun way to eat this fall recipe: use scoop tortilla chips or Fritos instead of a spoon!

I am going to make this…soon! It looks so very good and I love all the ingredients! I am NOT a good cook.If I see an ingredient list of more than 5 items, I usually pass. This however looks easy enough for me and has foods i really enjoy eating! Thank you Caitlin!
