Tell me if you’ve experienced this: One minute your baby is all giggly, smiley, and happy. The next minute she is SCREAMING AND YELLING for no apparent reason. You look at this creature, red faced and drooling, who keeps smacking herself in her mouth and ear, and wonder, “What in the world is wrong with you?” After running down a little checklist – diaper, hungry, fever – you realize, oh no, we have started teething.
The whole teething experience is new to me. Even though the doctor says A has started teething, we only see her little tooth impressions in her gums and hear her screams when she feels pain. I was perusing Etsy for some natural soothers for my little princess and found these awesome silicone teething necklaces from a shop called Wombat Wash. Their silicone neckalces are handmade with beads of BPA Free, Food Grade Silicone and wood. The necklace Wombat Wash sent us is approximately 32 inches long. I can wear it while I hold Annabelle or while I am changing her. It has become a great distraction while I am changing her – she used to grab for my hair or her diaper!
The necklaces come in a variety of styles, colors, and vary in prices. The necklace that we received to review has three different size beads – two are made of silicone and the largest is made of wood. Annabelle likes to put all of them in her mouth. After wearing it only a few times, she has figured out it is a great toy. She already grabs for the necklace when she sees it! I imagine that this will be a must-have in our diaper bag for the next few years.

I can’t believe how inexpensive these are!!! I was just in Buy Buy Baby yesterday and was shocked at the $39 price tag. I may have to purchase one of these now for Jack. EVERYTHING goes in his mouth these days. I’m sure a tooth is on the way out soon!
