Looking for a pregnant life lately update? Here it is – a peek at what’s been going on in Caitlin Houston’s little world.
Another fantastic weekend is in the books – even though it kicked off Friday night with a lovely tantrum by Annabelle. They are progressively getting worse just when I think she is getting better. That girl wants to be the BOSS of our family!
Annabelle is so sweet and cute though it makes it hard to stay frustrated with her. My Mom told me I was pretty much the same way as a toddler and that we definitely have our hands full. Thankfully there is an end in sight, for I calmed down with age.
I finally met my best friend’s new baby, Ryan, on Saturday morning. He was the sweetest little baby I have ever seen. He stared at me with these adorable eyes the whole time I held him. It took everything in my power not to smooch that little face (I didn’t want to give him any germs).
Pregnant Life Lately – Bump Photos with my Girl
Saturday night we enjoyed the amazing weather with a little backyard BBQ. Annabelle insisted on taking another baby bump photo with me – and telling me that she has a baby in her stomach as well. We have discussed the rules for her having a baby (one being a husband involved) but she loves to go against what we tell her. Is this a preview of our future?
Lots of skewers and a crab cake and asparagus! Sprouts has the most amazing deals in the fresh meat/seafood section. I bought the Teriyaki chicken, seasoned chicken, and shrimp kabobs for $8 total and the crab cake was only $2.50!Sunday I had to go see little guy again and give my best friend a big hug before I go to Connecticut for two weeks. I whipped up a Penne Vodka Pasta Bake and brought that along with me. Baby Ryan was longingly looking over her shoulder when she brought him downstairs…I think he was daydreaming about breastmilk.
Annabelle has been loving the mini parks in our neighborhood – as long as no one else is there. We like to hit them up early in the morning so she can get her play time in. Part of me doesn’t like that she gets nervous around other children, but the other half doesn’t mind it since kids aren’t always so nice. We have had some crummy experiences at the part with kids pushing her out of the way, running into her, or just not being friendly.
Last night we grilled out again – clearly Annabelle dressed herself (shoes on the wrong feet, mismatched socks, hoodie with no shirt underneath). I can’t believe how grown up she is looking these days!
Daddy’s girl… the patience I’ve seen him develop over the years with her is truly mind-blowing (if you knew my husband in college). I love watching the two of them together.
On the baby sister front – I had my glucose screening and 26 week appointment this morning. Everything is measuring perfectly and Baby A’s heart rate is consistently in the 130s. It is hard to believe that we are less than 100 days away from the due date!
We are nowhere near ready for another little girl in our house. Baby A would have nowhere to sleep or keep her clothes because Annabelle’s big girl bedroom is nonexistent. Once we get back from Connecticut for my sister’s wedding festivities, I think we will start changing around the house … aka I’ll be able to get into nesting mode.
Only three more days of school left… then its summer SAHM time!

What if Annabelle has a baby in the future with a wife? Surely that’s allowed. There are lots of relationships that she could have that don’t involve a husband!
