If imitation is one of the greatest forms of flattery, then I should feel really good about myself. Annabelle mimics my actions, dress, and what I say more and more every day.
Mommy and Me Kimonos
I find it endearing that she likes to wear a hat if I am wearing a hat. It’s precious that she says, “I love you so much” at the most random times, just like I do.
Obviously, some of what she emulates is not appropriate for a toddler. Like the time she said, “What the heck!?” after Muffin ran over her foot or she admitted she was picking her nose because she saw Mommy do it. Thankfully, for the most part many habits she has picked up, like brushing her teeth, are good ones.
I try to make it a point to buy us matching things whenever I know that she is going to want what I have. I was thrilled when Reveal Couture offered to send me and my little copycat matching kimono robes!
Annabelle always asks if she can wear my bathrobe, which is about 10 sizes too large for her itty bitty self. Now she has her own robe in fun colors to wear before bed, after a shower, or when she wants to lounge around the house.

I like that my robe fits my big pregnant belly, but will also work after I’ve had the baby. The robe will be perfect for days I don’t have a chance to shower and the newborn is cluster nursing. Annabelle thinks she is quite fancy in her new robe and I had to bribe her with a string cheese so she would take it off before going to sleep.

If we were headed somewhere tropical this summer I would love to be able to dress Annabelle in a ruffle Hawaiian dress and Brandon a shirt in the same pattern.
