Sharing a bump update for Caitlin Houston at 30 weeks pregnant. Here is a summary of my symptoms, cravings, weight gain, and more!
How far along: 30 weeks 4 days pregnant
Total weight gain: 24 lbs?
Baby Size: “A good sized cabbage”
Baby Facts: It seems like there are some websites that overlap on information – so a general fact about a baby 30 weeks old in utero is that she can regulate her own body temperature and start shedding her lanugo – the downy hair that has kept her warm up until now.
Movement: Karate kick to the ribs? Judo chop to the pelvis? She does it all.
Sleep: The last week Annabelle has slept better in her bed, so surprisingly I’ve slept better in mine as well. However – I had my first crazy pregnancy nightmare that it was the end of the world, I was in labor, and I forgot my hospital bag at home. My sister had to drive me in all of the craziness outside and I woke up in my bed sweating and panicked that I was NOT ready to have a baby yet.
Cravings/Aversions: Nothing new!
Symptoms: Shortness of Breath – now a daily occurrence and I don’t know what triggers it, but the only thing that helps is sitting in the recliner in our living room.
Pelvic Pain – in the evenings I’ve been feeling lots of pelvic pain – especially if I move too quickly.
Vulvar Varicose Veins – I am unable to be on my feet for long periods of time if I can’t wear my maternity spanx or V2 support belt due to the worsening of my varicose veins in my private area. They get worse the farther I get in my pregnancy because of all the pressure my uterus places on them. I’ve shed quite a few tears about this issue because Annabelle doesn’t really understand why Mommy can’t hold her or go for walks. I can’t exercise either – which makes me upset.
Heartburn – Thank you Zantac for preventing and squashing my heartburn!
Pregnancy Brain – I think the fact that I rear ended a truck parked across the street while backing out of my driveway speaks for itself. #nodepthperception Annabelle now says every time we get in the car to go somewhere, “Mommy be careful. Don’t hit any cars today.”
Randoms: A little bit of spotting and some aches and pains yesterday had me freaked out. The doctor says I’m okay though!
Favorites: When I rest my arm against my belly if I’m laying on my side, Baby A always kicks me. I like to think she’s saying, “Hello!”
Wondering? Here is my 30 week bump update with Annabelle.
