Creating a baby registry for a third pregnancy feels very awkward. However, a lot can change when it’s been five years since you were last pregnant. Want to know how to create a baby registry for a third pregnancy? I’m sharing a list of Baby Registry Ideas for a Third Time Mom with traditional must-haves and new-to-me products.

How to Create a Baby Registry for Third Pregnancy
The best way to create a baby registry for a third pregnancy is to take inventory of what you have and reflect on what you love from the past. Then consult with other Moms about their current favorite products – I guarantee there is a lot of new stuff you haven’t heard from! I know I’ve been pleasantly surprised to learn of all the new innovative items for babies and Moms.
In the past, I shared my Baby Registry must haves for Mom and Baby – but so much has changed since I was first pregnant in 2013. My first baby registry features products that are no longer deemed safe for babies. My second baby registry included my old favorites, plus new items recommended by Moms. The third time around is always a charm, right? I’ve combined my old knowledge with new input to create the ultimate baby registry list.
Traditional Must Haves for Mom and Baby
There are quite a few traditional must haves for a baby registry which stand the test of time (and recalls for safety). Here are my favorite items for Mom and baby:
- Muslin Burp Cloths – THE BEST multipurpose cloth out there. The most durable and absorbent burp cloth for spit up or excess milk while nursing
- Diaper Genie – I don’t have a brand preference, but this odor absorbing container is very necessary for newborn diapers.
- Pacifiers – If you want to use them with your baby, order a few different kinds to try. We love these pacifiers and the Wubbanub.
- Waterproof Crib Mattress Protector – there will be leaks and accidents
- Diaper Bag – from backpacks to tote bags, there are SO many options – just choose one you love!
- Feeding Support Pillow – Trying out the Snuggle Me this time around
- Baby Lounger – I have used Dock-a-Tot for years but LOVE the Snuggle Me Lounger (covers)
- Breast Pump – NOTE: get this covered by insurance
- Sleep Sack – this brand changed how my baby sleeps and helped us sleep train her. The safest most amazing sleep sack ever
- Breastfeeding supplies – milk bags, extra parts, nipple shield (consult with specialist if necessary), I LOVE Soothies or organic nipple cream for sore cracked nipples
- Changing Pad for Changing Table – you can always be a floor person, but I like to be on the same level as my newborn and this liquid resistant changing pad changed my life!
- Car Seat + Stroller System (I’ve always used Britax, but this time I use the UppaBaby system and am obsessed. It is the luxury version of baby car seats and strollers. Note: We bought ours on Facebook Marketplace as brand new and still use the stroller at age 3 with our toddler.
- Travel Changing Pad
- The Haaka for breastfeeding Moms (catches milk)
- Nail clippers with light – my favorite nail clippers after three has a light
- Diaper Bag Dispenser and Refills – the key to disposing smelly diapers on the go
- Sound Machine – The Hatch Rest is the BEST sound machine for babies (doubles as a night light)
- Wipe Warmer – I’ve loved mine since my first baby. Some say it’s not necessary but our babies love it.
- Baby Bathtub – This bath support system is the best for babies
- Stroller Hooks – the only way to carry grocery bags when shopping with a stroller
- Baby Monitor – I don’t have a favorite, but this baby monitor is highly recommended
- Humidifier
- Aquaphor – for EVERYTHING
- Baby Bjorn Bouncer – This bouncer is perfect for young babies to big babies – obsessed with it’s portability, safety feature, and versatility

Creating a baby registry for a third pregnancy is a wonderful way to ensure you have everything you need, especially if your older children’s items are worn out or outdated. I love the idea of focusing on essentials and splurging on a few new items that make life easier. It’s also smart to think about adding products tailored to your current lifestyle, like double strollers or sibling gifts. Reusing some items is practical, but it’s also important to celebrate this new arrival with some fresh and special picks. Great tips on making the registry personal and practical!
