SLEEP: One of the most discussed topics of parenthood. We will do anything to make sure our babies are safe, comfortable, and cozy when it comes time to dream. Since our third, Arbor, was born in December, we have been using the best baby swaddle with a unique arms up design. Today I’m sharing Our Review of the Love to Dream Swaddle.
An Honest Review of the Love to Dream Swaddle
Love to Dream is a brand focused on “safer sleep made simple.” I’ll never forget the first time I had to swaddle my newborn baby without the help of a postpartum nurse. The entire process was an absolute failure. It’s hard to wrap a baby like a burrito! Fast forward 8 years when I have my third newborn and swaddling is so much easier with Love to Dream’s products.
Unlike traditional swaddles which keep a baby’s arms down by their sides or across the chest, the natural ARMS UP™ design of the SWADDLE UP™ allows the baby to sleep the way a baby naturally wants to sleep. When I was pregnant I saw Arbor with her hands by her mouth or face during every ultrasound. Babies like to suck on their hands or touch their face as a way to self-soothe. Traditional swaddling does not allow a baby to do what they want to do.
We have been using the SWADDLE UP™ since Arbor was one week old. My sister insisted I try these swaddles after they were the only way she could get her newborn to sleep comfortably. Arbor naturally slept with her arms right near her face from the start, so it wasn’t a change to put her in the swaddle. Our sleep trainer recommends the Love to Dream swaddle from early on!
Starting a Sleepytime Routine is Important
Every baby sleep consultant will tell you it’s important to follow a sleep routine (as best as you can). I am not the best at following routines, but the Love to Dream Swaddle helps us stick to one. Now that Arbor is 15 weeks old, she knows what is about to happen when she is zipped into her . She calms instantly and likes to rub her face or chew on her hands while we rock her to sleep. I will never regret using a sleep trainer and sleep training program with our third baby (who still sleeps amazing as a toddler).
In addition to the ARMS UP™ design, there are other benefits of using the SWADDLE UP™ swaddle:
- The snug fit makes your baby feel secure and helps to calm their natural startle reflex (you know the one where their arms shoot straight up in the air?)
- The sleek design eliminates excess loose fabric in the crib.
- The wings prevent tiny nails from scratching both the baby and your face at bedtime.
- It’s designed with a genius two-way zipper for easy diaper changes – especially during the middle of the night.
- Finally, the hip-healthy design is recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for allowing hips and legs to flex naturally!
My only regret is not having these amazing swaddles for my first two children! Love To Dream™ has revolutionized swaddling so that everyone can swaddle right, every time, and your baby will have a safer, more comfortable sleep. When your baby starts to roll there is a Love to Dream Swaddle with Zip Off Wings. It is easy for transitioning your baby to an arms out swaddle.
