Happy Friday friends! From house updates to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale open to the public to an adorable children’s clothing shop on Etsy to a Saratoga Springs wedding recap, these are a few of my Friday Favorites.
#HoustonWeHaveAHouse Update
I am SO excited to share with you that we will be staying overnight in our home next week for the first time! We are officially moving in a week from tomorrow, but we are camping out a few nights beforehand to test out the new digs. Did you see my Great Room Before/After photos this week? Such a beautiful transition!
Our family room flooring is almost complete – all that is left is tile that needs grout and the trim molding and heater cover need to be replaced. I’m on a hunt for outlet covers that are fun (or just plain white) as well as a bench and hooks for the area to the left of the door. This room is our main entrance off of the garage, so I’d like it to be informal, welcoming, and eventually cozy.
The top portion of our dining room walls have been repaired with multiple skim coats and sanding (thank goodness!), so now its all ready for paint. We are not keeping the navy on the bottom portion of the chair rail, but instead painting that white and the top wall gray.
As for the lovely gold chandelier, I look forward to spray painting it black and changing out the tiny light shades for something more modern. We are also going to raise it closer to the ceiling since it’s currently hanging as low as Annabelle is tall. You can see the DIY Pins here that I hope to use.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks
There is a lot of buzz around the internet about the NAS… bloggers who are shoving it in your face (posting all day every day) and bloggers who refuse to post about it at all. I have shown you what I bought and what I’d buy, but that’s as far as I have gone. Many items have already sold out since they had early access for Nordstrom card holders, but there are still a couple big ticket/great deals!
My favorite high quality but inexpensive leggings are $35.90 and a MUST HAVE for surviving motherhood and chilly New England weather.
The Ella Chelsea Bootie (by TOMS) somehow snuck by me when I shopped the sale last week. They are SO cute and I’m sure comfortable since everything I own by TOMS makes me feel like I’m walking on air. They are the least expensive bootie that I would wear at $78.90.
Everyone needs an easy cardigan for the fall and the B.P. Stitch Curve Hem Cardi is $31.90 and comes in 5 colors.
Pleats and Stitches
Yesterday I opened up about the life lessons I want to teach my daughters before they’re all grown up. The girls wore the most adorable Rosette Smocked outfits from Pleats and Stitches. Ailey is almost too big to wear a Smocked Romper with her legs growing an inch a day, so I loved seeing her run and play in this outfit. Annabelle’s Smocked Dress is the perfect length so she can wear it for the next year or so!
Saratoga Springs Wedding
We attended our friends’ wedding in Saratoga Springs, NY last weekend and it was SO much fun. They were married at the Saratoga National Golf Club, which is an incredibly stunning space with a renowned golf course where all the guys played the day before. The bride did an amazing job with her decor and food choices – sushi during cocktail hour? YES! There was also a trolley ride to and from the wedding, chandeliers hanging in the reception tent, and a late night feast of doughboys!
My amazing and talented friend Elizabeth Grant was the photographer… obviously she had to photobomb us.
I didn’t get a chance to really explore Saratoga since we drove up on Saturday a few hours before the wedding and left early Sunday morning. I hope to go back to visit someday as there was a ton to do – restaurants, local boutiques, and horse races!
We are off to Ohio for the weekend to visit my husband’s side of the family! Wish us luck on our travels – Annabelle has started asking, “Are we there yet?” every 3 minutes on our recent road trips and Ailey is a ticking time bomb if she sits too long in her carseat.

Good luck! Road trips are a nightmare for us lately. Fingers crossed that you don’t hit traffic!

I just found your blog today. Scrolling through I came across this post and saw Saratoga Springs! You definitely need to come back. It’s the most adorable and fun little town to visit. The horses race for 6 weeks every summer, the restaurants are fabulous and the shopping is so fun. I live about 15 minutes from city center. We try to get there a few times during the summer and many times in the spring and fall.
