Mother-Daughter Shopping Trip at Boscov’s

Not many people like to take their toddlers shopping, but I’m always up for a mother-daughter shopping trip! Last week we had the privilege of shopping at the Gala Preview for Boscov’s New Store Opening in Milford, CT and it was a trip well spent. My girls can be a little eccentric when they get in a store filled with pretty pink and sparkly tutus, but they love clothes as much as their Mommy and were on their best behavior.

Annabelle, Ailey, and I shopped ’til we dropped at Boscov’s as there is a department for everyone in your family. We started in the Juniors section – a place I frequent for inexpensive comfortable items, such as this cozy sherpa pullover. I couldn’t believe how much cheaper Boscov’s Juniors Poof! Sherpa Frosted Pullovers are compared to other stores. I bought two different colors and consider going back to grab one of the Sherpa jackets. 

Boscov’s Girls Accessories and Toddler Department

Once I found something for myself, the sisters said it was their turn to shop. The girls loved the accessories section right before the children’s clothing. The headbands, barrettes, and other fashion accessories are so much fun and reasonably priced. Annabelle grabbed a pack of pink headbands to share with Ailey and a leotard for dance class.

After dragging the sisters away from some items for older girls (they have Disney princess nail polish!), we went to the toddler girl clothing area. Annabelle and Ailey were jumping up and down over the selection of outfits and walked away with matching gray lace hoodies and pants. Boscov’s carries well-known great brands for every day low prices, so there were so many options to choose from.

Boscov’s Toy Department

What department store would be complete without a toy section? We made our way to the toy department, only to discover the most amazing play zone featuring one of our favorite brands: Melissa & Doug.  We love Melissa & Doug for their dedication to encouraging imaginative play and creative, innovate designs. 

 

The girls had quite the time playing “grocery store” at the Fresh Mart and decided Santa needs to bring them one for Christmas. They picked out Melissa & Doug Tiara Kits – a mess free way to build and embellish pretty tiaras with velcro closures that makes them easy to wear. Annabelle and Ailey then joined me on a fun elevator ride upstairs to the women’s clothing department.

Boscov’s Women’s Department

The women’s department in Boscov’s has a sections for everyone. From petites to misses, outerwear to formal dresses, one could easily spend hours perusing the racks. I found so many items that I wanted to try on, but it’s a little hard to enter a dressing room with two toddlers in tow.

Boscov’s carries a variety of women’s vests in different fabrics and designs. I’ve been looking for a reasonably priced plaid puffer vest and bought the one above for $20! It is lightweight, comfortable, and perfect for New England fall/winter. Boscov’s carries numerous sweaters in every color, style, and material imaginable. I picked up a gorgeous fall colored poncho sweater and a red wine hooded sweater cardigan by Absolutely Famous.

Annabelle, Ailey, and I had fun looking at the accessories in the women’s department. From handbags to scarves to perfume, the little girls “Ooo’d and Ahh’d” over all of the beautiful items. Personally, I was impressed with the low prices on high quality brands, such as Dooney & Bourke, London Fog, and Sole Society. We stopped by the jewelry counter and admired a pair of beautiful Tanzanite earrings I’d love to find under the Christmas tree.

Every employee during our shopping trip greeted us, asked if we needed help, or complimented the girls. We felt welcome, warm, and comfortable while walking through the different departments.
