Happy Friday April 5th! We are almost one full week into April so it’s about time I share my third edition of What I’m Loving Lately from March 2019. Twelve times this year I’ll recap each month and round up what I’m loving lately. This is my March recap and what I’m loving lately.
We had a wonderful month, but it was super busy as we took two big trips out of state. Enjoy this little recap and a preview of what’s to come in April for The Houston Family and Confessions of a Northern Belle.
Spa Treatments at Serenity Salon and Day Spa
The salon I visit in town, Serenity Salon & Day Spa, asked if I wanted to try out their spa services: a Dermaologica Peel and a Facial (see my IG story highlights!). This year I’ve been paying special attention to my skin and focusing on treatments for sun damage and to prevent aging. If you live in Connecticut make an appointment at the Day Spa for one of their services and say Caitlin sent you! I’m LOVING my skin lately and have to thank Serenity for letting me try out their services.
A Family Getaway in Woodstock, VT
Our family had a blast visiting Woodstock, Vermont last month. We went skiing, ate delicious food, and explored the gorgeous Woodstock Inn & Resort. Read all about our trip here.
Trips to Tennessee and Georgia
My family and I spent a week and a half down South visiting the Grandparents in TN and GA. I also played Bridesmaid in my friend Chelsea’s wedding! The weather was beautiful while we were in both states and it was wonderful being able to see our family and friends!
The weirdest part of our trip was driving by our old neighborhood in Cumming, GA. Seeing our house was quite nostalgic, but when we realized they’re putting a development in next-door was nauseating. We had the most beautiful view of Lake Lanier that will now be ruined by 100 town homes. I will never understand why the city where we lived continues to build on every inch of land… soon there will be nothing left!
Spring Clothes
I always say that I don’t shop a lot… but for some reason in March I went shopping. For the record, some items were *free* through a collaboration, but the other pieces I had saved for with money from Poshmark. When we moved I got rid of a TON of clothes and my spring wardrobe is sad, so there is room for new items.
Check out my spring fashion must-haves from Boscovs.

Understand how you feel about the building & developments. We’re new to where we live but it used to be a quiet little farm town. There have been literally thousands of new homes & apartments built over the past few years and it’s awful. The roads weren’t meant to deal with this kind of traffic, never mind the schools. I’m a teacher and we’re already hundreds of students over capacity. The town allows the building to continue because the schools are run by the county, so it’s not their job to worry about it (yeah, right). It is, to use your word, nauseating.
