This post is in partnership with PRIMP Network and Vistaprint. All opinions are my own
Networking, collaborating, and engaging with your with your audience an essential part of a blogger’s business. One of the best ways to be prepared for any opportunity is to make a blogger business card you can carry and hand out to new people.
I’ve been through three different blogger business card designs to know there are some features I like and don’t like. I love using Vistaprint to design my blogger business cards using a themed template or one of your own designs.
Step 1 – Choose a design
From paper finish to paper stock to corner shape, before you even begin to design what is printed on your business card there are important decisions to be made. Vistaprint has so many options.
Vistaprint has a variety of standard business card themes or the option to design your own. I chose the rounded business cards in a standard cardstock with a pearl finish. For my layout, I chose an area for a photo and the design you see above for my personal information.
Step 2 – Include only the necessary information
Include only necessary personal information on your business card. Don’t overshare – it’s a preview of who you are and what you do, not a resume. Here is what to include on a blogger business card:
Blog Name
Your Name
Your Title
Your Location
Your Email
Blog URL
Optional: Social Media Handles, QR Code, Phone Number
Many cards have a two sided option, but that doesn’t mean you can overload the open space with more information. Keep it simple and neat, including your name and/or blog name.
Step 3 – Make a blogger business card uniquely yours.
Whether you have a tagline or logo, photograph of yourself or something blog related, make a blogger business card uniquely yours. I love including a photo of myself on my business card so people can put a face to my name and blog. Choose a design that is pretty and appealing to your eye.
If you are a blogger, I highly recommend you design and order a set of business cards. Vistaprint is offering 40% off business cards now with code:OFF40VP! I hand out business cards everywhere I go, to friends, family, to brands I hope to work with, and even strangers I meet in the grocery store line. I attend many blogging network events where I give out my business card as well.
“Anyone with the passion, ambition, and spirit to run a business should have access to customized marketing products that help them connect with customers, professionally and affordably. We have pursued that vision from day one – and we always will.” – Vistaprint founder, Robert Keane
Don’t make the mistake of believing blogging isn’t important enough to justify a business card. If you want to be a successful blogger, you have to treat your blog like a business!
