Happy Friday! Here are my favorites for the week – including a new home wish list, winter jacket, and free necklace.
one. a real home … we can call our own.
Things are getting real over here as we get closer to buying a new house. I feel like we’ve been home-less forever! House hunting has been quite the adventure (a whole blog post worth of adventure) and I just want to finally have a place to call our own. I think I spend at least an hour a day on Pinterest, planning each imaginary room in our new imaginary house. Check out my pin-spiration here!

two. winter jacket.
So… you all know how I don’t have any winter clothes here in CT with me, right? All of our stuff is in storage until we buy a house… Well, I ordered a winter jacket during J.Crew Factory’s 50% off outerwear sale last week because I know I can’t last without one. While I absolutely love it, I’m kicking myself for not buying my exact size. I thought that by going one size up I’d have room for my winter clothes underneath, but there may be too much room. Do I go through the hassle of trying to exchange the jacket or keep it?
three. free necklace!
Have you entered my giveaway on Instagram with DeLezhen yet? We are giving away one personalized birthstone necklace to a lucky Instagrammer and it’s so easy to win. Just follow me and DeLezhen and tag two friends – giveaway ends Monday morning and the winner will be announced Monday night.
four. mules.
Who loves mules? I like them… they’re easy to put on, comfortable, and perfect for sprucing up a casual outfit. Do you have a pair? Here are my favorite tan mules this season:
five. Halloween fun.
We have lots of fun this weekend planned for Halloween – pumpkin picking after Annabelle’s school, a kids goblin parade tonight, and a grown up monster mash tomorrow night. Are you doing anything fun for Halloween weekend?

Definitely go through the trouble of exchanging. I bought a great, warm coat (I live in NY, so totally necessary) from LL Bean last winter and it was just a little too big but I toughed it out. Every time I wore it it bothered me that it was too big. I just didn’t want to exchange because I needed to have a coat to wear everyday. As soon as it warmed up I exchanged and am so glad I did. Do it now before it’s too cold!

Yes definitely exchange the coat, you’ll be happier every single time you wear it 😉 I love following along on Instagram, can’t wait to see what house you end up in and watch as you make it your home! Also I just can’t quite get on the Mule train…never feel like the look quite right on me…

I wish you guys the best of luck with house hunting and finding the house that is the right fit for your family. We just purchased our first home this year and it still feels surreal. It’s a great feeling to have a place that is all ours.
