one. the Tory Burch Minnie.
I know SO many people who say that they don’t like Tory Burch Revas because they are uncomfortable. Well, have I got the shoe for you!!! The Tory Burch Logo Minnie Travel Ballet Flat is amazing, and quite possibly the most comfortable shoe I now own. Brandon gave me the French Gray pair (pictured above) for Christmas and I have literally worn them every day to school this week.
two. a different kind of NYE.My parents’ best friends live on a lake in Rhode Island and we all drove up for the night. We spent NYE at a 3 hour dinner with our party of 11… and then watched P.Diddy and Mase take us back to the 90s at Pitbull’s NYE countdown concert. Annabelle slept soundly upstairs like a cherub while we sang and danced our hearts out in the living room. The boys and the adults played some college drinking games at a bonfire by the lake. Matching pjs, Prosecco, and awkward sister dancing is what the last night of every year should look like.
three. dirty hands.
Annabelle tried pancakes for the first time at my Mom’s house. She was all about the butter and none of the pancake or the syrup. She was very bothered by the stickiness and insisted we washed her hands after every time she touched her fork. Am I the only one with a toddler who doesn’t like to get her hands dirty?? Well… unless it’s marker – then she is down to get dirty.
four. something that is already not my favorite.
HOW DO YOU WORKING MOMS HAVE TIME TO EXERCISE? Gosh – something I used to love is now my enemy. I despise you exercise, in that kind of way that you hated the boy you really liked in 7th grade just because he wouldn’t look at you. One of my resolutions for the new year was to start working out again, but seriously – I have no time. I get some pushups in while A is in the bathtub, or some squats while I brush my teeth, but actual cardio is nonexistent. I get home from work around 5:45 and have to make dinner, make lunches, do the dishes, get A ready for bed, clean up a bit, and then I am spent. By 8:30- 9:00 pm I am in bed and immobile. I struggle to wake up at 5am, so there is no way in heck I could get up any earlier to work out.
Any recommendations on how I can get some exercise time in?
five. hey Mister Mister. I just have to give some love to one of my forever Friday favorites. I don’t talk about Brandon a lot on here anymore – or maybe I never really did – since he would prefer I don’t blast his face all over the blog. However, I have to give him a shoutout because after all the crap I went through last year, this guy didn’t leave my side. He stood right next to me and held my hand through everything. One of these days I will get around to blogging about our trip to Napa, which was totally his idea because he knows how much I love my wine and how badly I needed an escape from reality. He’s a good one – a good husband, father, and friend – and I love him to pieces.
Such a sweet mention of your husband! I don’t blog about mine much either because I respect his privacy but I wish I could brag on him a little more so that people know how amazing he is and that I do love him even if I never mention him 🙂 Have a great weekend and if you figure out the exercise thing let us all know your secret!
on messy hands: yes. My LO insists on eating with her hands and then complains that her hands are messy. Funny kid!
on working out: God only knows how people do it. I’m in the same exact boat. I’m sure as a teacher you’re up and out too early to get it done in the morning, too. I’m an early bird at work so I can get home in time for the “evening rush” of dinner, bath, etc. so I don’t have time in the morning, either.
Love that picture of you girls and this post! I am obsessed with my Minnies too! I am with you that it is the most comfortable designer flat I own! Thank you Tory Burch for saving our Tory loving feet. Happy New Year doll! xo
I can’t even with the dirty hands. Too funny! My son can be like that sometimes, and will hold both hands up to me to clean, admire their cleanliness, and then go back to eating with his hands. Toddlers are just weird, plain and simple.
No tips on working out since I’m preggo and no thanks, and a SAHM, but I have no idea how you do it. When I’m not pregnant I barely have the energy to do it during naps/after bedtime. So all those working moms that manage to workout daily are my idols. I just try to sneak them in the same way it sounds like you are!
Girl I hear you on the exercise thing! I’m up at 5am with #babybigtruck up at 5:30. I don’t get home till 5:30pm with her then there’s the after work hustle. I have her in bed by 7pm and as soon as she goes to be I will squeeze in a quick 30-45 minute workout and then I’m in bed by 9pm myself. I shoot for workouts 3 days a week. I also squeeze in 10 squats and 10 wall push-ups every time I go to the bathroom! Good luck!
Love these Friday favs. The hubby shout out is very sweet! I may have to get a pair of these flats. I’ve been admiring them so much at work. I would also LOVE pointers on how to fit in exercise during the week when you are a working momma! So hard! 🙂 🙂
THOSE TORY BURCH FLATS ARE AMAZING! SOrry, had to shout out it because I just adore the color and I also love how comfortable they are ( once I break them in a bit ). ANd I need to get back in the bait of working out and fitting it in…this Mom is exhausted after working all day too!
My toddler hates dirty hands too.
I work out over my lunch break. We have a small gym in my building that’s great for getting in some weight lifting or light cardio. I don’t do anything too intense over lunch because I don’t have time to work out hard, shower/get cleaned up again and eat all in one hour. If my husband is able to pick our son up after work, I’ll stay after work and get in some sweaty workouts.
Thanks so much for linking up! Those Tory Burch flats are adorable. I hope you have a great weekend!
Such a sweet shout out! I’ve heard great things about the Minnie’s too. My little one loves messy hands – which means my walls, chairs, clothes, get messy so easily 🙂
Annabelle sounds like a smart girl. I’m all about that butter too.
I do all of my working out in the evening after the babies go to bed and I do it in my living room while I watch TV so that way it doesn’t feel so much like working out. I get distracted by the TV and the workout goes by really quickly!
Oh my goodness, I stay home now, and I can’t find time to excercise! I’m completely exhausted at the end of every day! I love the color of those TB- you hubby did good! Annnnnd, my toddler HATES anything in her hands!
Please do a Napa post!! we are planning a trip there this summer! i would love your recommendations! And working out is so hard!! Have you ever done any Jillian videos? she has a thirty day shred one that is only 20 ish minutes. It’s still craving out time in your day but it’s a good work quick.
Your NYE sounds similar to mine and low key at home is my new favorite way to spend that holiday! That last photo of you guys is fabulous!
Hi! I found your blog from the comment you left on mine. 🙂 Cute blog! I really should check out those TB flats– I love that they’re so flexible and fold. Those would be perfect to pop into my purse too after a long night of wearing heels to change into.
Have a great weekend!
I’m a stay at home mom and I can’t seem to fit exercise in either! There’s just so much to do and so little time. My 4 year old can not stand sticky hands, and won’t eat anything that gets his hands sticky. Love the pic of you with your guy!
My TB Revas are so uncomfortable so I never wear them anymore! I may have to try her new flats though. Love the color of them!

On working out: Maybe you could find a gym/studio you like close to where you work? There are so many fun classes of all types at all times through the evening. I know giving up time with the little one is so tough, but maybe once or twice a week your husband/family member/babysitter could handle the evening routine while you grab a class right after work? And you could always go on a weekend morning. For me at least, classes are the way to go. It’s fun and the time flies by!
Love those French Gray Tory’s. I have the same ones plus a few other colors. Aren’t they comfy?
