The weekend is finally here and I’m so excited for everything we have planned. I have had a crazy week, busy every day with blog meetings and blog deadlines. I’ve been so busy lately … and I feel blessed for the chaos, but overwhelmed at the same time. I hope to put my feet up and relax just a bit this weekend, but before I do – here are my Friday Favorites.
one. Boscov’s Grand Opening.
The girls and I were invited to preview the new Boscov’s in Milford, CT yesterday. We shopped ’til we dropped – literally, Ailey passed out as soon as we got in the car. I have never been in a Boscov’s before and will frequent the department store all the time now. I found so many amazing items for incredibly low prices and the girls had a blast picking something from the Melissa & Doug display.
two. BRUNCH GIVEAWAY.
On Wednesday my sister and I went to brunch at Atticus Bookstore Cafe in New Haven, CT. It was AMAZING – seriously amazing. Next week I’ll give a full recap of our visit and tell you all about the incredible homemade local food we feasted on. I am giving away Brunch for TWO ($50) at Atticus over on my Instagram. Go enter as it ends tonight at 10pm!
three. Blogger Confessions.
I bared my insecure soul this week regarding blogging … and how it’s so much harder than it looks. There’s competition, catty girls, and a lot of overwhelming moments. Head to my post about My Daily Struggle with Blogging.
four. Target Joggers
Looking for new joggers under $20? I snagged a pair of joggers in light green from Target this week that are so cozy, super soft, and only $16.99. I usually switch between yoga pants and joggers on the days I don’t actually get dressed while working from home, so these are perfect.
five. #HoustonWeHaveAHome Update
Guess who is getting black shutters?! One of my favorite moments this week is all thanks to Brandon. His dream home has always been a white colonial with black shutters and red door. We’ve been slowly making it happen… and by slowly I mean not doing anything at all. Brandon started taking the shutters down this week and my brother in law came over to help. He’s been painting every night!

Through trial and error, we discovered that Rust-oleum Painter’s Touch 2x Paint and Primer in Semi-Gloss is what we needed to cover the blue on the shutters. Brandon washed the shutters first with dish soap and water, then applied two coats of spray paint over the course of two days. I’ll be sharing a full tutorial once the shutters are back on the house.

We still haven’t painted our shutters and they’re faded and awful (and we’ve lived in our house for over a year)

The fireplace looks beautiful. We just redid out living room… so much work, but it’s great once it’s finished.

Your home renovations look great. Those joggers look so comfy! Right now, I need to buy fall work clothes, so the comfy clothes will have to wait. I don’t think that I’ve ever been to a Boscov before.
