Moms are always looking for new ways to simplify their life – whether it’s cleaning or cooking related, I know that if there is a shortcut or a way to make things easier, I want to know about it. After a bit of trial and error, I’ve put together easy ways to simplify your life this spring, all of which can be implemented instantly.
Easy Ways to Simplify Your Life
1. Make the beds every morning – it’s the easiest way to make your room look clean.
Not only is making the bed after you get out of it a good habit, but it is a quick way to check one thing off of your list to do. By making the bed every morning, you’re going to feel more confident and motivated to start your day. PLUS a tidy made isn’t easy to crawl back into once the kids are off to school.
2. Put the kids toys away before going to sleep.
By tidying up the children’s play areas, you’re creating a fresh start for the morning. We really try to include our kids in the clean up process, but sometimes my husband and I just tag team the playroom. I hope someday when they are older we can rely on them to clean up before they go to sleep on their own!
3. Wipe down the kitchen and run the dishwasher overnight.
I like to start the day with a clean slate. Since we begin our day in the kitchen, itโs nice to have it clean upon waking up! Every night I rinse out the sink, wipe down the counters, and check the floor for crumbs. I also load the dishwasher and run it overnight, so I just need to unload in the morning and we’re ready for the day.

4. Sort dirty clothes as you take them off, so you don’t have to when it’s laundry day.
Your life will change when you have two different laundry baskets – one for light colored clothes and one for dark colored clothes. As you take off your dirty clothing, sort it by color to save time for laundry day!
5. Declutter Your Home One Room at a Time
Start with storage spaces! Go through your cupboards, closets, drawers, and even check under the bed for items you no longer use or need. Make a pile of items to donate and items to throw away. Then actually donate or throw away the items – don’t let the trash bags of donations sit in the trunk of your car!
