For everyone that said January took forever to end, I must say February made up for it by flying by in the blink of an eye. This month was so busy which could be the reason why it felt so short, but then again who knows the reasoning behind it all. We spent our weekend hanging out with family – celebrating a few birthdays, eating delicious food, and chasing around the girls.
Cask Republic
On Saturday we met a bunch of our friends for lunch at The Cask Republic: Communal Tavern in New Haven, CT. It was my brother-in-law’s birthday and they have an awesome drink menu and fun small plates (like mushroom empanadas and chicken quesadillas). I am not a big fan of Moscow Mules but their Green Tea MM is a customer favorite, so I tried it out. I’m now a huge fan myself – it is made with fresh brewed green tea and so light and refreshing. 
Birthday Brunch
Our family is known to celebrate birthdays as many times as we can in a weekend, so my sister hosted brunch on Sunday morning. The spread was drool-worthy – put together by my sister and my brother-in-law’s Mom and siblings. I’m pretty much a bagel kind of girl when it comes to breakfast, but when you add in ham asparagus tarts and cinnamon french toast, I can’t resist.
After brunch we headed to my cousin’s daughter’s fourth birthday party. Annabelle and Reese are BFF and I didn’t have a chance to take their photo since they lived inside the bounce houses at Monkey Joe’s. We have never been there before and it was SO much fun for the kids. For parents – quite the chaotic nightmare, especially when your 1 1/2 year old thinks she doesn’t need adult supervision.
Overall we had a great last weekend of February, especially brunch with the family! How was your weekend?
What a great weekend!!! Spending time with friends and family is always the best:) We had a relaxing & refreshing weekend, taking things slow but it was just what we needed.
I thought the bar looked great and then I saw the Brunch! Wow – it looked fab – lucky you! Brunch as to be the best meal of the day – Europafox x
