It’s another Friday in October. Today I’m sharing a life update with our plans for our weekend in Connecticut and Friday Favorites.
one.
I’ve been visiting my family in Connecticut and this week sure has flown by. I feel like I’ve been going nonstop seeing everyone, so it would figure that I now have some sort of head/chest cold. I won’t let it stop me from enjoying the last couple of days I am here, though!
Tonight we have a Sip and See for Ailey (and Annabelle too!) and wedding dress shopping for my sister tomorrow. On Sunday we will get fish from our favorite market on the shore, Bud’s Seafood, and whip up a big family dinner.
two. It’s a girl!
My best friend Melissa and her hubs (and their fur son) just found out they are having a baby girl! I am absolutely over the moon with excitement that my bff girlfriend is having a little girl who will grow up to be bff with my little girls!!
Melissa and Andrew have quite the engagement story and their wedding story is just as cool – we had a flash mob ceremony at the park pictured above. The proud parents to be are the most athletic people I know (marathons and cycling and former college athletes), so I know their little girl will have to be a future soccer player. I’m now on a hunt for cute athletic clothes for infants – any suggestions on shops?
three. cousins.
The relationship between Annabelle and her cousin Reese makes my heart explode. Reese’s Mom is my first cousin and we have been bestest friends since birth. I am so happy that she and I have gone through BOTH pregnancies at the same time because I don’t know what I would have done without her! Seeing our girls love each other is amazing.
four. My Favorite Connecticut Vineyard.
If you’re ever in Connecticut, you must check out Paradise Hills Vineyard and Winery. I went to high school with the beautiful girl whose family owns the vineyard (pictured above).
Not only is it one of the most beautiful hidden gems in my hometown, but they also make delicious wine. My family and friends spent Wednesday evening at the winery and we had a blast. It’s kid friendly, so don’t worry about finding a babysitter. Just bring your favorite snacks to go along with a nice glass of wine!
