A Quick Trip to New England

I don’t think there is a more beautiful place than New England in the Fall. The colors of the leaves almost look fake – bright reds, vibrant oranges, and shimmering yellows adorn the skyline. Every time I go home in Autumn, I fall in love all over again with Connecticut.

Annabelle loved helping me blow out my birthday candles! She also loves “Happy Birthday” and has been singing it nonstop since my real birthday last month.

And all Reese wanted to do was, “Pick up Annabelle.” She is quite determined and strong for a little peanut. 

I can’t believe my nephew is going to be 9 next month. He is now in third grade, so we had lots to talk about! I couldn’t grab his older brother fast enough for a photo, but he is now a whole head taller than me. I felt SO short next to my 14 year old nephew, who is still growing!

Annabelle often pretends to call Uncle Jesse when we are at home on her pretend phone. I love seeing how much she adores my brother!

Before we headed to the airport on Monday, my sister, her fiance, Annabelle, my Mom, and I did a little scenic tour of my hometown. We took Annabelle to see some cows, beautiful farms, and looked for ducks in the reservoir.

Everywhere we went, the leaves were the star of the show… until we stopped at the reservoir and saw about 100 geese making quite the racket. Annabelle decided they all must be hungry and told us that’s why they were “honking” so much. The reservoir is a place of many memories growing up as its where my Dad and I would fish on Father/Daughter fishing day for Girl Scouts.

Annabelle looks less than pleased – this is after we showed her a couple of lazy cows taking an afternoon snooze.
