I’m sharing details of my pregnancy at 33 weeks. Enjoy this 33 week bumpdate with information about my weight gain, cravings, baby’s development and more!
How far along: 33 weeks 4 days
Total weight gain: 25-26 lbs
Baby Facts: At 33 weeks, baby’s skeleton is hardening, except for the skull. The skull will remain soft and flexible to allow it to fit through the birth canal, and also to grow and allow adequate space for her enormously brilliant brain. (Alpha Mom)
Movement: Sometimes it looks like someone is trying to escape from my belly – especially if I am laying on my side. Annabelle is kind of freaked out by it and won’t touch my belly if I tell her Baby A is moving around a lot.
Sleep: Between bathroom trips, raiding the closet for Tums, and round ligament pains every time I roll over – I’m up all night.
What I’m Wearing: Well we have reached that point in the pregnancy where the most comfortable shirts belong to my husband. My vulvar varicose veins are worsening daily, so I often keep my spanx on under my pj pants if I am at home. It’s so hot I would love to sleep in nightgowns, but I have to have something between my legs or the swelling worsens. During the day I can pull off long dresses – but that’s about it! So much for those cute white shorts and jeans I bought from J.Crew Maternity. Thinking of selling them once this is over…
Cravings/Aversions: Loving watermelon – hating the thought of scallops and fish.
Symptoms:
Contractions – they are definitely happening and its not Braxton Hicks anymore. I was a little bit concerned on Monday because it didn’t matter which position I was in, the contractions were coming. But – I never had 8 in an hour – so we didn’t make a trip to the ER. I have an appointment tomorrow and will have the doctor check to see if anything is going on down there.
Heartburn – ughhhh I didn’t think it could get any worse! But it did! Perhaps I need to just stick to a nice diet of toast and fruit for a week like I did with Annabelle.
Lower Back Pain – we learned a massage technique for lower back pain in a labor class we took three years ago. Brandon calls the move the “double hip check double press” and I’ve had him do it every night the last week. It helps relieve some of the aches and pains that have appeared.
Lightning crotch – it’s a real thing! It hurts like hell! And it happens every time the baby moves and hits a nerve.
Early Labor Signs: Contractions were mentioned above… I had a gush of pink thick discharge on Sunday night after going pee when I stood up, accompanied with contractions, that made me a little anxious – but my discharge has been clear ever since.
Missing: Being able to do every day tasks like washing dishes or walking up the stairs without having my belly get in the way or getting out of breath. These third trimester workouts are killing me!
Loving:
1. Annabelle’s big girl room is being painted and we are on a big girl bed hunt this week – that means I can FINALLY start transitioning Annabelle’s room into Baby A’s nursery.
2. Sister Clothes – by the time Baby A arrives I shall have a few coordinating outfits for the A sisters in my collection.
3. So many fun things are coming in the mail from Etsy shops who I’ve collaborated with – for Baby A AND Annabelle! Stay tuned..
Wondering? Here is my 33 week bump update with Annabelle.
You look wonderful! I’m sorry you’re feeling so bad. Pregnancy is a ton of work! You’re close to the finish line.
We are busily getting our Big Sister room ready too, just ordered a new big girl bed so we can move her first and then get the nursery ready for Little Brother.
You look so cute! So glad I found your blog!
Eeek so close!
I am sorry you are so uncomfortable but you look adorable! Almost there!
You look great! I know how hard the last few weeks can be. Hang in there girl, you’re doing awesome!
