From a family Valentine’s Day celebration to a bridal shower at Bloomingdales and updating Annabelle’s bedroom, here is my February Weekend Recap.
Happy President’s Day! Who is home for the holiday? The girls are off, so we are pulling out a few Christmas gifts I set aside for a rainy day. My sister in law recommended it to me years ago and it’s the best idea ever! Whether you’re at work or at home today, I hope you enjoy this February Weekend Recap.
A Pizza Themed Valentine’s Day
I celebrated Valentine’s Day with my husband and the girls with a mini pizza tour through New Haven. Da Legna x NOLO was the first stop for a half shredded mozzarella / half fresh mozzarella pie. Annabelle usually picks all of the cheese off her pizza to eat just the sauce and crust, but she loved the entire pizza. If you’re looking for vegan/gluten-free options, Da Legna is a must try.
After Da Legna we drove down the street to Modern Apizza. I haven’t had this famous pizza since my Grandpa was alive, so it was time to go back! We ordered half pepperoni olive and half onion bacon. It was SO GOOD, but warning – it’s a fork and knife pie. If you’re interested in visiting Modern Apizza, go EARLY or be prepared for a line out the door.
If you’ve ever been to New Haven then you know – the city is filled with the best of the best pizza restaurants!
On our way home we surprised the girls with the best, and their favorite, ice cream place in town. Overall it was a wonderful Valentine’s Day with the family.
Bridal Registry Event at Bloomingdales
My sweet friend Ashley is getting married this summer, so she teamed up with Bloomingdales to host a bridal shower themed event on Saturday. A few of our close friends modeled bridal looks while I spoke on a panel about registering for wedding gifts. Bloomingdales wedding registry department has so many perks I wish I knew about ten years ago!
I had the best time dressing up in all white with my girlfriends to celebrate Ashley. The Bloomingdales Personal Shopper department styled all of the ladies on the panel or in the fashion show. We also had our makeup done in Bloomingdales – my makeup artist, Hope, in Esteè Lauder was SO wonderful!
The Perfect Blow Out at Le Boudoir
Every Saturday morning I attend my favorite Hot Yoga class at 7am, so I had to rush to get ready for Ashley’s event. Unfortunately I’m always red faced for hours post-class and it takes me a long time to style my hair. Thankfully, I was invited to try out Le Boudoir Blow Dry Bar with my girlfriends Claire and Laura. All I had to do was shower my body and show up.
Le Boudoir is a Blow Dry Bar in Connecticut with four locations – Darien, New Canaan, Westport, and Fairfield. The salon in Darien is gorgeous and upon arrival you feel like you’re entering a friend’s beautiful home. The staff is courteous, there are massage chairs at the washing station, and you have a choice of drinks during your service.
I’m so lucky Mamoune, the owner and the lead beautician of Le Boudoir Beauty Bar, was my stylist for the morning. Not only is he passionate about making his customers feel incredible, but he’s also talented and so sweet!
“We want our guests to leave their concerns behind and travel to a place where everything revolves around their well-being; that place is Le Boudoir Beauty Bar where a woman is a queen and the experience is second to none,“ affirms Mamoune Tazi. Claire, Laura, and I felt just like Queens after our blow-outs.

Closing out our February Weekend with a Productive Sunday
Over the last few weekends I’ve been everywhere BUT home with my family. Our house has been a disorganized mess and there is so much we need to finish since we moved in. One of the main tasks on our To Do list is installing curtains in the bedrooms, but I’m so indecisive when it comes to choosing window treatments.
A quick trip to Home Goods proved most successful as I found both curtains and rods to match Annabelle’s bedroom. For $50, we added a little more warmth to her pink bedroom! All that’s left is swapping out the wall art for a decals.
My next task for Annabelle’s room is swapping out the artwork above her bed for floral wallpaper or a painted accent wall.
Fun Fact: Ailey and Annabelle have been sharing a room since Christmas! I love that they like to sleep with one another because it keeps them out of our bed (for the most part). Ailey finally grew out of her crib, but has no interest in a bed of her own. Honestly, we aren’t ready to buy her new furniture yet, so it’s perfectly okay they’re sharing a room!
