Road trips with kids can be intimidating. Before hitting the road, make sure to read these tips for a safe car ride with kids!
Summertime is filled with adventures: week-long vacations to Cape Cod, day trips to the beach, and even quick stops at the local farm. While school is out, we spend a lot of time on the road looking for ways to stay busy. Traveling with toddlers can be stressful, so it is important parents know how to stay safe when taking a trip. Here are three tips for a safe car ride with kids.
Tip 1 – Plan Your Destination Ahead of Time
My daughters and I love going on car ride adventures, but it is important you have a destination set before you leave your house. Plan ahead and take the extra time to look over the directions before pulling out of your driveway. Moms and Dads have to keep both eyes on the road and not focused on their GPS.
Tip 2 – Prepare for Anything and Everything
Be prepared for anything on a car ride with kids. Car sickness (the best barf bags every), hunger, thirst, boredom – don’t leave home without snacks, water, activities, diapers/wipes, and a change of clothes. I have a tote in my backseat filled with all of our car ride necessities that I make sure is stocked before we leave the home.
Tip 3 – Make Sure Your Children Use a Proper Car Seat
It is so important children sit in a proper car seat that is just right for their height and weight. The car seat must be installed properly too. Don’t know where to start? Check out Safe in the Seat. Michelle Pratt, Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Expert, founded Safe in the Seat to empower and inform parents with the best car seat safety resources.
Before you jump in the car with your kids to go on an adventure, make sure you remember these three tips! Take lots of pictures once you arrive at your destination because kids are only little once.

You did a great job explaining the program! I love ❤️ WW! It’s a great program. I can still eat normal and what my family eats I’m just more mindful about what I put in our bodies. I’ve been a lifetimer for 4 months. I too go to all the meetings I can. With 4 kiddos sometimes we have emergencies. Since becoming a lifetimer I’ve continued to lose weight I have my own personal goal. I’m also the youngest in my group and I love it. I learn so much from the other members. They are my friends now. And I couldn’t do this without them. Good luck the next two weeks! I’m sure you’ll do great! Ramos And Sons Plumbing
