Are you a new Mom? Here is how to take a relaxing Time Out from motherhood with Bigelow Tea.
time out
noun
1. time for rest or recreation away from one’s usual work or studies.
“She is taking time out from her busy work week.”
2. an imposed temporary suspension of activities, especially the separation of a misbehaving child as a disciplinary measure.
“It’s the third time this week he’s been in time-out.“
Being a little kid is hard. People are always telling you what to do, when to do it, and yelling at you for sticking their phone in the toilet. What kids don’t understand though, is being a Mommy is just as hard. Babies are telling you what to do, when to do it, and sticking your phone in the toilet. When little kids are naughty, they get a TIME OUT. They are told to spend a certain amount of time doing nothing.
Funny thing is… MOMMIES NEED TIME OUTS TOO! They need certain amounts of time to do nothing, but think. Think about all of the good things in their life as a Mommy, so they don’t go crazy when the baby is refusing to nap again.
A Time Out from Motherhood has to be relaxing.
What better way is there to relax than with a steamy cup of tea. My favorite tea is Bigelow Tea because there are so many different flavors to accompany my ever-changing moods.
After a particularly cranky morning, Annabelle finally lays down for her first nap of the day. This is when Mommy gets to take her first Time Out. I pour hot water into a mug. Next I tear open the foil pouch, which is sealed tightly for freshness, and drop my Bigelow Earl Gray tea bag into my mug. Finally I get to work on my blog. Two minutes later, my tea is ready to be enjoyed! Earl Gray tea is a quality black tea with a distinct citrus flavor, perfect for mornings, or when you need a little pick-me-up during the day.
Once lunchtime hits, I am ready for another Time Out. After lots of playing, singing, and bouncing around the house, the baby has worn me out. With the warmer temperatures creeping in, I like iced tea in the afternoon.
A Cool Break with Bigelow Tea
I make a cup of I Love Lemon tea and let it cool. Then I pour the tea over ice in a glass and enjoy it with a straw. I Love Lemon tea has a daily dose of Vitamin C which is great for fighting off sickness. I usually sip my tea while watching Annabelle sleep on the video monitor. It is so relaxing and when she wakes up, I am ready to be Mommy again for the rest of the day.
By the time the sun sets, Daddy is home getting Annabelle ready for bed. I make a cup of Sweet Dreams herbal tea and start to run the bath. Sweet Dreams herbal tea is a blend of chamomile and mint that is meant to calm and soothe, which is exactly what Mommy needs to do after a long day. After a bubble bath and cup of tea, I am ready to go to bed!
It is so important to take at least one Time Out for yourself during the day when you stay at home with your little one(s). Being a Mom is hard, physically, emotionally, and mentally. Taking a Time Out to relax, to reflect, and to refresh yourself will be your saving grace in Motherhood. If Mommy is happy, then baby is happy and well cared for.
Yay for Mommy Time Outs! So great that you found multiple times in your day to find one….it’s so important to stop and refresh…and NOT to feel guilty about it. If I could go back in time and tell my young mom self this, I totally would! #client
Thanks Brandi! I have been spreading the words to my pregnant/new mom friends how important it is to take some time for themselves!
