Thieves Tea is great for your health, especially when you have a sore throat. This is an easy Thieves Tea recipe to make next time you’re not feeling well.
For the past week I have been battling a sore throat, headache, and dry cough that flares up the worst in the evenings. I’ve tried everything from cough drops to daytime cold medicine to pain reliever and nothing has helped me sleep soundly through the night. My friend recommended a homemade tea using essential oils to help my cough and to support my stressed out immune system.
Thieves Tea Recipe
Thieves Tea is made from 1 drop of Young Living’s Thieves™ essential oil blend, 1 drop of Young Living’s Lemon Essential Oil, 1 cup of hot water, and honey (two spoonfuls).
The first batch I made was a bit strong, so I poured half of the mixture into half a cup of hot water. The result was a sweet, steamy, beautiful smelling and delicious tasting tea. After drinking just a few sips, I noticed my throat felt less scratchy. I finished the cup about an hour before bed and last night I coughed only once, to clear my throat, before I fell fast asleep. This morning I woke feeling refreshed, for the first time in a week I had slept without waking to cough.
Thieves™ is a blend of highly anti-viral, antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-infectious essential oils. It is made of of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary essential oils.
You can use Thieves™ to boost your immune system during cold and flu season, or when you’re already feeling under the weather. Lemon oil can be used in a variety of ways, but combined with the Thieves™, it is an immune stimulant and induces relaxation.
