It’s official – I am obsessed with wedding blogs. And I want to have my own perfect wedding blog. Now. I have to have my own perfect wedding blog, just like Veruca had to have her own golden egg. Unfortunately I have to create the blog myself, and some magical goose isn’t going to lay one for me.
I took this photo when I went hiking at Stone Mountain in Georgia. I told B that this indestructible mountain heart is a symbol of our love…. he did not find it as humorous as I did.
As of today, I have created 6 different websites about my wedding – and I have only been engaged since August…it seems as though I am averaging 2 websites a month. I think that my desire to be perfect is becoming a problem. I make one, decide I hate it, and then have to start all over again.
Currently, I have three active “‘wedding planning websites.” I can justify them all though – one is my cute Knottie page announcing our engagement, one is my google site wedding planner, and this shiny new blog is hopefully going to be ‘the one.’ The one that people will want to read and tag as one of their favorites. Unfortunately, I think that in the world of blogging, I am not cut out to be one of the best.
First of all, I have to thank all of the awesome brides-to-be and the super knowledgeable veteran brides out there for creating some of the best blogs I have ever read. You are my inspiration and you are what I aspire to become.
My most favorite blogs right now are: These Little Moments and Snippet & Ink . They are only two blogs of about a billion that are great to read. I have about ten blogs saved under Super Important Wedding Stuff in my Bookmarks on my home computer, and around seven on my work computer in the Top Secret folder (shhh, we aren’t supposed to be reading blogs all day long in the office.)
If I wasn’t so in love with my fiance, B, I would almost say that I think I am in love with wedding blogs. They are always happy, never complain, never mean, and reliable….sort of like my fiance, except they can’t protect me from the monsters under our bed.
At the same time I am super jealous of all those wedding blogs I stalk. They are the reason that I can’t stop making wedding websites. I want my wedding website to be just as good as all the others!
So I am going to try to be witty and try to be creative. We’ll see how long this one lasts….
P.S. I have to say – I envy you, Oh Perfect Wedding Blog – but someday I want to be just like you….
