Today I’m sharing part two of our family vacation to the Nantucket Hotel and Resort in Nantucket. Enjoy details of the hotels’ kids program, restaurant, and what to do in Nantucket! Check out Part One here!
Breakfast a la Carte from Breeze
Vacation mornings can be tough when you have two little ones that who want to go directly to the pool when they wake up. Since it can be chaotic in the a.m., we rarely go out to breakfast on a trip. Thankfully during our stay at The Nantucket we were able to dine in our room for breakfast.
Breeze Restaurant at The Nantucket Hotel offers a limited menu for to-go orders for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant delivers the food right to your room with everything you need to have a lovely meal.
Annabelle and Ailey enjoyed the most delicious pancakes every morning at the hotel. Brandon and I were fans of the spa omelette made with spinach, goat cheese, onions and roasted tomatoes.
Outdoor Dining at Breeze Restaurant
On our last night in Nantucket we enjoyed dinner on the front porch of The Nantucket Hotel and Resort. The twinkly lights, comfortable chairs, and coloring pages for the kids made for the perfect atmosphere.
We felt very comfortable dining outdoors at Breeze Restaurant. From paper menus to servers wearing masks and gloves, the staff is taking extra precautions to ensure guests are safe and comfortable. Guests are required to wear masks while walking through the indoor areas of the hotel, but not while sitting outside to eat.
We anticipated we would enjoy dinner as we had already experienced the delicious cuisine of Breeze Restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Brandon and I enjoyed Steamed Clams (the best I’ve ever had), Porcini Dusted Scallops and the Seafood Stew. Bonus: our daughters rarely eat their vegetables and surprised us by diving into the kids’ salad!
After dinner Ailey fell asleep on my lap while Annabelle snuck off to make S’mores with her Dad. The Nantucket Hotel concierge will set up a DIY S’mores experience on the deck or lawn for guests by appointment.
The Kids’ Club Day Program
Our family felt very safe allowing the children to participate in the complimentary Kids’ Club Program at The Nantucket Hotel. They follow strict rules in accordance with the hotel’s safety Covid-19 practices. The staff takes the children’s temperatures and ask a health questionnaire before drop them off. All staff and children wear masks and practice lots of hand washing.
Annabelle and Ailey were thrilled to spend the morning at the Nantucket Hotel’s Kids Club Day Program. Every day has a theme and they were lucky enough to come on Pirate Day! The girls went on a treasure hunt at Brant Point, designed pirate hats, and decorated their very own treasure chest. They also enjoyed free play, snacks, and games during the morning.
Afternoon Cookies and Lemonade
One other complimentary treat at The Nantucket Hotel is afternoon cookies and lemonade. The cookies and lemonade mix are individually packaged to avoid spreading germs. It’s easy to make your own lemonade in the hotel’s complimentary water bottles!
Other Things to Do While Staying at The Nantucket Hotel
If you want to visit the beach while staying at The Nantucket Hotel there is a complimentary shuttle transporting guests throughout the day. The beaches aren’t very far from the hotel though, so you can always rent bikes to ride to the shore!
My family was so thrilled to have Young’s Bicycle Shop provide bikes for one of the days on the island. It’s easy to rent a bicycle before or during your stay, over the phone or in person. Young’s Bicycle Shop is just a few blocks over from the hotel!
Whether you’re looking for an adult bike, children’s bike, or even a Burley Cub Covered Trailer, Young’s Bicycle Shop has it all. Brandon and I each had our own bicycle. Then we attached the Burley to the back of of Brandon’s bicycle where the children were able to relax while he pedaled to the beach.
Our Thoughts about Staying at The Nantucket Hotel with Kids
Overall, The Nantucket Hotel and Resort is an incredible place to bring your children on vacation. From the Kids’ Club to the family pool to the game/movie library in the lobby, there is so much to do!
In addition to the family friendly amenities and programs at the hotel, there is also the entire island of Nantucket to explore. The concierge will help you and your family plan any type of adventure you may want to have during your stay.
