Please tell me it’s normal that my child doesn’t like grass. Here is a story about the princess who doesn’t like grass.
She doesn’t like to be dirty. She doesn’t like to run and fall and roll around. It took us 20 minutes to get her to touch a leaf – and that was only after she saw how it could “fly” in the wind. She has no interest in frolicking or tumbling or playing on a playground either.
We took her to the park on Saturday. It was 65, sunny, and GORGEOUS outside. The playground was so crowded – so I understand her hesitation on getting out of my arms. However, when we found a little private place to slide, she refused to stand on the ground. We took her to another private area, away from people, and tried to get her to run in the grass.
NOPE. She would not leave our sides.
Our child doesn’t like grass.
She does like puppies though. Everyone who walked by with a dog got a wave and a laugh and she would yell “Ppppppp (puppy).”

I finally got her to touch a leaf… And then she wanted to go home.

My mom always said I was that way. They recorded my first birthday and I have watched it before and I wouldn’t even touch my smash cake. They had to put my hand in it and then put some on my face for pictures, and they said I screamed for the next 30 minutes lol. When I worked at the daycare in the infant room we would take our babies outside and we had some the same way. The only way we got them used to it was to keep taking them outside each day for small amounts at a time, until they finally got used to it. She’ll come around!! Especially when the grass gets greener and a little softer as it warms up! 🙂

Awww!!! You have a little girly girl on your hands 🙂 I don’t personally have that issue with my little one, but I would just keep taking her outside for 30 minutes or so everyday. Hopefully she wll get used to it and begin to love it!

When we took 7 month old Rhys to the park because of the good weather last week, I expected him not to like the texture of grass as most babies do. However, he tried to eat the playground mulch and the grass instead!
