When I found out our little baby was going to be a girl, I sobbed tears of joy. I had always dreamed of having a daughter. I wanted someone to share my secrets with and to teach how to twirl. Little toenails to paint and curly hair to put in a braid. A little girl who I could dance with, laugh with, and love with all my heart. I’ve always said my Mom was my first best friend, and I knew if I had a daughter, I could possibly be her first best friend too.
Remember those best friend necklaces from the 90s? The ones that come with a heart broke in half – one saying “Best” and the other “Friend?” Two pieces of a heart for two best friends? She sent Annabelle and I a set of raglan Best Friend shirts with matching silver headbands for a Mother’s Day treat. Unfortunately, A won’t put wear the adorable bow headband this week, but hopefully I’ll get her to match me soon!

I know exactly how you feel! My mother is my best friend, and when I found out I was having a daughter, I was so excited. Ever since, I’ve been praying that me and my daughter have a relationship like my mother and I do now. It is the best friendship you can have, because they love you no matter what!
