My favorite item these days comes in twos and can only be described as “Mommy and Me.” Whether its a shirt or a headband, if Annabelle has her own ‘mini version,’ I’m as happy as a lark. It’s probably since she doesn’t really look like me that I enjoy dressing us in the same clothes.
Something I always use when I am getting ready for bed (or just don’t feel like doing my hair) is a headband. I’ve had my eye on the knot headbands for quite some time since regular elastic or hard headbands hurt my temples. The Bennet House makes Mommy and Me Knot headbands in all different colors. The Bennet House owner, Marisa, was SO kind to send Annabelle and me dusty rose top knot matching headbands. The comfy, stretch headbands are made of 100% cotton and can be tied and retied to grow with your little one’s head.
Of course it was a little difficult to get Annabelle to wear her headband since she won’t do anything I ask her to do – but once she saw Momma wearing hers, she kept it on during our nightly bedtime routine.
We brush our teeth, wash our hands and faces, and apply sleepytime oils to her Bunny. A few simple tasks makes up our nighttime routine. These are the moments I will cherish forever.
The Bennet House makes a number of other handmade items – slouchy baby beanies and infinity scarves to name a few. Marisa sent me a beautiful pink and white rose infinity loop scarf. It measures 52″ in length when it is not looped. The fabric is the perfect spring print and the scarf is lightweight so it can be worn during during the day and into the evening. I wore it on a beautiful cool day last week with a short sleeve white shirt and my favorite green chinos. I loved working with Marisa from The Bennet House. She is pretty amazing! She has a background in the arts and studied both theater and costume construction at University. When she graduated, she began my career as a freelance costumer, but during this journey, she reconnected and fell in love with her middle school crush. They soon got married, and after settling down, she started this shop so she can continue doing what she loves on a different scale, as well as support them while her husband is in law school!
Love those!! Too cute!! And that scarf is beautiful!
