If you’re looking for master bedroom inspiration I’m here to share everything I am dreaming of doing in our new home.
Ever since we first started talking about selling our house, I’ve been dreaming of how I want everything to look. From the kitchen cabinets to the bathroom sink, there are so many pins on my boards. I am not one to have visions for interior decor as if I’ve never really had an eye for design. However, a little channel called HGTV has helped me to develop that part of my brain.
I can honestly say, “I know what I want in our new house” in terms of furniture, paint color, and an overall theme. Brandon’s happy about my decision since I’ve always relied on him for an opinion. He might regret his enthusiasm because my vision is pretty solid. Let’s start with my dream bedroom.
Our Master Bedroom is Bright. White. Clean.
I absolutely love a bright white bedroom, but everywhere I’ve lived since college has been far from that. I’ve had purple bedding, navy bedding, and most recently – light blue striped bedding. In our new place I would like to stick to a gray/white/pale blue color scale.
Requirements for a master bedroom: big fluffy pillows, a down comforter and cozy afghan, soft white sheets against a reclaimed wood headboard.
I’m loving this bedding, but not a fan of the shell decor. Our previous bedroom had coastal accents, like Cape Cod, but I haven’t decided if I want to carry on with that theme. I just know I would love simple, but lush bedding that can match any theme.

The vintage rug look is something that reminds me of my childhood. My parents had hardwood floors with rugs in every room all over their house and I never liked it. I wanted carpet… but after having lived with carpet for the last 12 years, I’m longing for hardwood and vintage rugs, like this one or this one.
We have a really fantastic well-built bedroom furniture set, but its tan, gold, and not my style anymore. I love rustic wood pieces and would enjoy shopping around at local antique markets or refinished furniture shops. Pottery Barn knows what I like, for example this bedside table… but I want to buy from a small business.
I’m looking forward to creating a peaceful place for us to spend our evenings (with blackout curtains for the hubs) and Sunday mornings with the girls. Our bedroom holds so many memories and I am sad to say goodbye.
Our bedroom was never just for ‘Mom-and-Dad-time’, some of my favorite memories with our daughters have been laying in bed, playing and laughing together. Even the nights when Annabelle would climb in between us, or the 2am nursing sessions with both babies, I cherish the moments it was not just us two, but four altogether. I cannot wait to create more in our new house.

Oh gosh, I’m so excited to see this because we are in the midst of decorating (I too have no eye for design!) a new larger home and right now, we’re on the master bedroom. Up until, well NOW, our motto for furniture has always been: Get something affordable we can live with.
That included a lot of hand-me-downs, Craigslist and furniture outlets. I will say this, shopping is a little more fun and a lot less stressful when you can open the pocketbook a bit more.
That said, our queen mattress is 10 years old and we’re both suffering from it. My clothes explode out of this vintage Ethan Allen dresser. While I’d love to take my time and curate pieces one by one at local furniture shops, I think we’re going to buy a set.
Also I’ve learned my husband has extremely masculine taste and is quite picky. Ugh! If he had his way, our entire house would look straight out of Game of Thrones. But we’re compromising. We painted our master similar to what you suggested with light blue green accent called RainWash and the popular Accessible Beige. We have a white down and duvet now and I plan to continue that. The room is quite large and I think we’ll create a reading area in one corner as well. Either way, I’m ready to get on with it as it’s been a naked room for two months now!

Beautiful.. But have you disclosed yet where you’re relocating?
