One of the cutest in my class is little girl who is a refugee from Africa. On Tuesday she told me she saw a real live purple cow at her grandpa’s farm – with big bright eyes and smile from ear to ear she said that she could imagine the purple cow licking her hand because it had happened before – and I almost believed her, until I remembered that there is no such thing as a purple cow.
On Wednesday she told me that her cat ate her homework. She literally looked at me, opened her backpack to show me it was empty, look at me with big sad eyes, and sadly said, “My cat ate my homework.”
What do you even say to that?!
On a personal note…
Mr. Bear says I shouldn’t share this with you… but I thought maybe you needed some pump-up music in the morning.
