I LOVE the snow and winter and all…but if Mother Nature doesn’t get her tush in gear and deliver the kind of storm we had last year… I am just gonna keep on singin’ this song and dreamin’ about my yet-to-be-planned “spring break” in April….
Aruba, Jamaica ooh I wanna take ya
To Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego baby why don’t we go
Jamaica
off the Florida Keys
There’s a place called Kokomo
That’s where you wanna go to get away from it all

The Bears are looking into taking a trip down to the Florida Keys in April. Neither of us have ever been, but we have heard it’s gorgeous, affordable, and fun! I don’t really know how to go about planning a trip like this, so I need some advice or suggestions.
Have you ever been to the Florida Keys? If so, can you answer the following questions and help the Bears out?!
1. Where did you go?
2. Where did you stay?
3. How did you get there?

When you find out the answers to your questions, please share! I want to take my hubs there for a surprise birthday trip this year or next!

We just booked our anniversary trip in April to the Dominican Republic. If you’re going to the Keys, it may be cheaper to fly into Miami or Ft. Lauderdale and drive. Can’t wait to hear more about your trip!

YES!! I’ve been down there twice. The first time we stayed in Key West and the other time we stayed in Islamorada. There are so many things to remember about the Keys though! It’s not miles of white sandy beaches like you may imagine. The water is beautiful but the beaches are smaller and rocky. The first picture from Key West — that’s probably the entire beach next to a resort or something. Key West is awesome for partying, snorkeling, and exploring. =) It is definitely a good time! TripAdvisor had so many helpful tips for staying in Key West. We didn’t have a car or anything — you can certainly walk EVERYWHERE you need to be in Key West if you stay near Duval street.
We live in FL so we just drove.

One of my friends went to the FL keys on her honeymoon. She and her husband flew into Miami and drove there…but they also visited Islamorada.

Hey girl! I grew up going to the keys–my family even has a house in Islamorada! I would recommend staying in Key West because it is geared towards tourist. There is a lot to do and they have a lot of hotels. The rest of the keys are amazing but if you’re not a local or don’t have access to a boat, there really is not a lot to do. Remember the keys don’t have beaches…the only beaches are the ones that resorts built, so keep that in mind! If you have any questions you can email me, [email protected]
