Yesterday we read a poem called The Purple Cow. Our comprehension strategy was visualization, so I asked the students to close their eyes and try to picture a purple cow. One student told me she was milking it. Another student told me he was riding it fast through a field. Then a student told me he sees the cow’s butt. Nice.
