One of my last Friday Favorites before the new baby arrives and I’m sharing a little bit of our life lately. From preparing for the new baby to preschool for Annabelle, here are our Friday Favorites.
one. 39 weeks.
It’s finally here… I’m 39 weeks pregnant. As discussed with my doctor, if Ailey doesn’t come on her own in a few days, I’m going to be induced. I’ve been feeling lots of contractions, lower back pain, and she has seriously dropped – but I just don’t know if she will come on her own. We’ve typed up the Eviction Notice and shall see if it needs to be served.
two. girls rule.
I know I speak for probably 75% of the female population right now – but HOLY SMOKES. The U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team is so incredible! I think they’re leotards should say, “Girl Power” on the back. My Mom and I loved watching the uneven bar event on Tuesday night with Annabelle because I feel it’s important she should see strong, confident woman athletes.
The first time I put on Women’s Soccer she asked why girls were playing the boy sport. I don’t want my daughter growing up to think that sports are for boys.
three. preschool.
Annabelle is moving on up from baby school to preschool this year. She is attending a morning school program two days a week at our church and seems to be rather excited. Sadly, we might miss the first official day of school if baby sister decides to grace us with her presence.
I’m hoping it might be a good thing since I know the first day will be hectic and probably filled with lots of crying kiddies – which would upset her. So, I’m okay with her starting late! We will just wait and see what happens though.
four. Grub Burger Bar.
If you ever get a chance to try out a Grub Burger Bar, you MUST. I normally don’t eat red meat, fried food, or drink milkshakes (tummy troubles), but when you’re at the end of your pregnancy and get a craving, you do what you want.
I felt like I was in heaven while eating a bacon cheeseburger with special sauce, crispy french fries, and a mini vanilla milkshake. Later that evening I was sick as a dog, but every bite was totally worth it. When I’m not pregnant, I’m going to go in there and get their Birthday Cakefetti Shake (it has vodka in it!).
five. decisions.
- Co- sleepers– I am torn between two different co-sleepers for Ailey. I know that she will spend time in our bed, and since Annabelle likes to join us in the big bed as well, I will feel safer knowing she is in her own little cocoon. The DockATot Deluxe Dock and the SwaddleMe by Your Side Sleeper have both received great reviews… there are just a huge price difference and different benefits between the two. Does anyone own either co-sleeper? I would love your thoughts and opinions!
- Diaper Bag – I really do NOT like the SkipHop Diaper Bag I used with Annabelle, so I need to find something else to use with the girls. I’ve been hunting for a simple bag that looks like a purse, but can be used as a diaper bag for months. I can’t make a decision. Has anyone ever used their Large Longchamp Le Pliage with an insert as a diaper bag?

You seriously have the cutest maternity style!!

I’ve been using my longchamp as a diaper bag for >18 months and I love it! Light weight, stylish, easy to clean up! I was thinking of buying an insert at first too but I haven’t needed one so far. I live in the city and I carry all my baby essentials in it (no car). Of course everybody has different “essentials “. Instead of an insert I have a skip hop changing station (with wipes and all) that I put inside, a large makeup bag packed with baby clothes, and another bag with snacks there is still room for toys, blanket and even my Cardigan.

I know you said you didn’t like your skip hop you had with Anabelle but I just got this https://www.diapers.com/p/skip-hop-duet-diaper-tote-taupe-1164474?site=CA&sku=SH-643&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc_D&utm_campaign=GooglePLA&utm_content=pla&ca_sku=SH-643&ca_gpa=pla&ca_kw=&cvosrc=cse.google.SH-643&cvo_crid=49550197777&cookies_set=1 Skiphop and I love it! It’s got a removable diaper bag and I can use to tote for myself for work!

OHHHHhhhh that burger! WOW, it looks so good!
I love the style of the Longchamp, but feel like it would be a massive hole where I need pockets and can access things easily. It’s not ‘pretty’, but we LOVE our Diaper Dude.
Comes in tons of colors and even different themes…like sports. I think it was created for Dads…but, we share one bag and love it. Good luck! Diaper bag is hard. At least you know you don’t like one and what you want in a new one! The first time I feel like we’re winging it!

If I ever have another baby, I’m splurging for this bag: https://www.lily-jade.com/designer-diaper-bags-p/m1-brandy.htm
I have a Kate Spade diaper bag now and I hated it. It was so bulky and uncomfortable to carry around — plus it did not double well as a purse at all so I had to carry both. (It was a hand-me-down, otherwise I would have never used it.)

Oh I’m sure Annabelle will do great at school!
I would suggest looking into the Lily Jade diaper bags. I really wished I had gotten one of those instead of the one I picked out when Everley was a baby. I truly prefer diapers bags that look like purses instead of screaming baby, I believe it makes that transition to toddlerhood so much easier.
Have a great weekend, praying that sweet girls makes an appearance!

You look so adorable at 39 weeks, I’m loving the tshirt over maxi dress. I’ve only used it for two seconds obviously but I have the Babymel Grace bag in tan. It looks like a purse and has all the diaper bag necessities. I looked at about 2785 on the Internet and this one was my favorite with the best reviews.

Oh you look so cute!! And isn’t the us team the best?!

Wow 39 weeks! You look amazing!
How exciting that Annabelle is starting a preschool program! And that’s great she is excited!
I haven’t used those co-sleepers but I did use the Arms Reach one and loved it. As far as a diaper bag goes, I found that I love the backpack style so much better, hands/arms free and there are spots for bottles/water bottles and everything else. There are tons of cute options out there too!

Happy 39 weeks! You’re almost there 🙂 I hope Annabelle has a great time in preschool.

We just had our sweet baby girl Lucy 3 weeks ago and have been using the DockATot Deluxe and we love it! I love that she has her own little space but I can snuggle up right beside her and see her breathing, haha! Congratulations!

I really want one of those burgers now!
I’ve been away for a few days but I woke up thinking about you, and whether you’d delivered last week. Hopefully soon!
