On the last Friday of October 2020 I’m sharing a few of my favorites. From early Black Friday sales to snow before Halloween, here’s what I’m loving this week.
Halloween Fun
We kicked off Halloween last night carving our family pumpkin. Since we knew it was going to snow, we kept the pumpkin inside by the fireplace overnight. The girls begged to bake the pumpkin seeds for the first time. I was so surprised to find out they love them!
Today the girls were so excited to wear their costumes to school! Annabelle is a winter fairy and Ailey is a pink unicorn – both very fitting for the snowy weather. Thankfully it’s going to be dry for Halloween tomorrow. We are participating in safe trick-or-treating in our neighborhood!
Our Family Halloween Costume
We rarely get a chance to dress up as a family themed costumed for Halloween because our daughters love to do their own thing. This year we took it upon ourselves to trick our daughters into putting on a favorite dress for a Halloween photo. Can you guess the movie? All we need is Muffin to be “Danny” and we would have been a perfect image of “The Shining.”

Winter Must Haves for Kids
Over the next few weeks we will see a lot of Black Friday preview sales. Just this week there were two – J.Crew and Lands’ End. Here are my favorites from Lands End, a must shop sale with up to 60% off using code MASK. We love Lands’ End for kids’ thermal underwear, boot socks, slippers and winter coats.
Fall Whites
I can’t believe it SNOWED in October! I’ve not seen snow before Halloween since I was a senior in high school (2002). I’m the biggest fan of cold weather and snow, so I was not complaining today watching the snow fall for hours.
This new off-white Cobble Hill Turtleneck from Dudley Stephens arrived last night – just in time for the chilly day. I love the fit of the Cobble Hill because it covers my butt and keeps it warm. For sizing reference, I’m 5’3 and wear a Small. If you want $25 off your first Dudley Stephens, click here!
Tonight I’m attending a special Halloween Hot Yoga celebration and tomorrow we are attending a festive gender reveal. Then in the evening my family is coming over to trick-or-treat in the neighborhood! It’ll be a great way to say goodbye to October. On Sunday I’m working on a fun festive project where I have to put up a few Christmas decorations – I can’t wait!
