one. summer with A.
I brought Annabelle to a little kids event, Little Acorns, at Avalon this week. They had face painting, visits from a baby kangaroo and python snake (ew), a Photo Booth, prizes, and a craft. We’ve been to one of the events before and it was really crowded – I had hoped it was a fluke, but it seemed like everyone and their older brother was there on Tuesday.
We waited 20 minutes to get her face painted and we were both a little frustrated with all the big kids pushing us around. Riddle me this – why do parents bring their elementary age children to a preschool age event?!
Regardless, Annabelle had fun and didn’t notice how annoyed her Mommy really was. We waited until it was ‘over’ to play on the slide – which she later told me I had to buy her.
two. lavender fields.
I am really excited that we are having family photos taken at a lavender field in north Georgia tomorrow morning! As usual, it’s one day away and I have no idea what we are all going to wear. Originally I planned for everyone to be in white, but I’ve had trouble finding something that’s flattering on my bump. Today Annabelle and I are going to make a mad dash around town for dresses, but if worse comes to worse I have a backup plan.
three. ballerina bedroom.
One of these days we are going to finally sell off the furniture in the room that is to be Annabelle’s big girl bedroom. Then a parent from my school is going to paint the walls white with a beautiful ballerina pirouetting across the room. I had a nightmare last night Baby A came early and we were NOT ready!
Making muffins with Annabelle was quite an adventure! After she spilled some of the mix on Bunny, she stuck her clean hand in the bowl and ate a big scoop of the mix. Later she donned her flu mask while giving me a pretend pedicure.
Since we are due to have a baby in August, our normal summer plans of going to Cape Cod and Destin for a week each have been cancelled. We booked a long weekend this month at a condo in Destin for Father’s Day weekend though! I can’t wait for Brandon to open his gifts since they are perfect for vacation. I’m also excited that my Mom is joining us on our getaway!
