one. page turning novels.
For some reason – despite the nightmares and anxiety I get from them – I have this obsession with reading crime novels. In the last four nights I blew through Pretty Girls: A Novel by Karin Slaughter. I can only describe the tale as Criminal Minds meets psychological thriller. Imagine a young girl missing, her two sisters torn apart by a man – only to be brought together by his death years later – and lots of suspense and murder. Since I won’t be able to sleep for the next week, next on my list is something a little more lighthearted: Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling.
two. Minnetonka.
When we went to Connecticut a few weekends ago, both my cousin and best friend’s daughters were wearing the CUTEST Minnetonka Back Flap Bootie
. I immediately ordered a pair for Annabelle, but got the wrong size! They run big, so make sure you size down. Annabelle is normally a size 5 and in these she wears a 4 – and they still have a bit of room in them. Annabelle wore hers all over the house last night, so I know they were a great purchase! So great that I kept the larger size for next year.
three. wishes for snow.
I know it’s only November… but a girl can hope right? Brandon and I are really really really hoping and wishing and praying for some snow this year. It doesn’t have to be in Georgia, it can be while we visit my family in CT – it just has to happen. By February. So make it happen Mother Nature.
four. flashback Friday.
Not gonna lie – I miss a big pregnant belly. We showed Annabelle photos of pregnant Mommy and her eyes were SO huge trying to comprehend that she was inside my tummy. Hopefully someday I can show her her future brother or sister in my big belly!
five. quotes.
Sometimes I think I have turned into a teenager – an angst-y, anxiety ridden, lyric obsessed teenager. I have found myself frantically pinning and writing down quotes for inspiration multiple times a day. I replay songs over and over again so I can jot down my favorite parts of the song. Words have been so crucial in my personal journey towards being a more patient and spiritual person.

I love the quote at the end and those boots are adorable! I’m like you – I totally shouldn’t read crime novels but I do. It’s like a weird obsession 🙂

I just finished The Mentor and I was afraid I wouldn’t sleep at night. If my husband is going to be working out of town, I can’t watch SVUs or any other crime show! But they’re so interesting! I like snow. I like colder weather. I’m totally okay with your wish for snow, and lots of it. As long as it does not interfere with electricity! Happy Weekend to you!

I’ve heard so many great things about Pretty Girls that I might have to pick it up soon! We’re headed to NYC in December, and I’m hoping for some snow too! We live in Texas and we really don’t see it much, except if we have just a crazy cold winter.

Have you read “The Luckiest Girl Alive”? If you haven’t check it out, it’s not a “keep you up at night” kind of book, but it’s definitely a page turner; and the twist kinds leaves you with your jaw dropped.
