One of the best things I can do for myself and my children is to take care of the skin that we live in. Here is how to make homemade whipped coconut lotion.
From lotion to laundry detergent, there is a comfort in knowing what I am putting in contact with our skin, especially my youngest who has had skin issues since birth. When I’ve run out of an item that comes into contact with our skin, I do everything to make sure I’m not slathering on something laden with chemicals.
Lotion is one of the most common items I’m found without, but I’ve learned to make my own Whipped Coconut Lotion. It’s so easy, safe for everyone in the family, and made with just two ingredients – coconut oil and essential oils.
What You Need:
1 c virgin coconut oil
20 drops essential oil (I use 10 Lavender and 10 Geranium)
Directions:
Allow 1 c coconut oil to soften (or warm in a metal bowl in the sun).
Combine 1 c coconut oil and essential oils in a glass mixing bowl. Only use glass mixing bowls when using essential oils so they are not absorbed into the plastic.
Use a hand mixer to whip the ingredients on a low speed.
Store in a glass jar in a cool room.

Since I’m always on the lookout for products safe for my family, I recently learned about a new laundry detergent that’s pretty amazing. I am so excited about the NEW sulfate free all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® as it delivers a powerful clean without harshness.
Did you know it is one of the first laundry products to put ingredients out there for consumers to know what the ingredients are and why they’re essentials?
I think that should be required for everything you use in your home. I love how all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® includes the ingredients on the back of the bottle so you know what ingredients are going onto your family’s laundry.
It is hard to find a laundry detergent that is not only safe for my family’s skin, but also powerful. The sulfate-free formula infuses fabric with essential, proven and effective ingredients for deep cleaning and stain lifting even the toughest of stains, like Ailey’s favorite purple teething crackers!
Don’t be afraid to use all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® on your clothing if you splash yourself while making your own whipped lotion.

Happy I saw this but I have a concern also about as a woman I don’t like using any of the underarm containers because there’s toxic chemicals in every single one with a warning is there anything I can use that is free of all harsh ingredients and dangerous ingredients.

Coconut oil is a good carrier oil for essential oils and as long as youhave proper dilution rates, you won’t burn or irritate your skin! I find that for some people straight coconut oil can be too greasy and even sometimes end up drying them out more… I like to use Shea butter as well as coconut oil in my lotion!

is it necessary to whip, can you just mix it up our does it change the consistency?
